It's been one year since I stared up this little initiative giving out HSBI to help people get their accounts growing here on Hive. Since then I've added in DUO tokens and BBH tokens as well. Today I'm throwing another one in the mix, CCD tokens from the @cryptocompany ! It's one I've been investing in recently and if you have one million of their tokens staked you can earn one free HSBI a day.
I'm glad everyone is enjoying the contest, and it seems to be getting more participants every week. As long as you all enjoy it I'll keep it going. I added in a weekly fifth prize for the anniversary and five bonus prizes today as well. Before we dive in here are some highlights from the responses to last week's contest! The entry question last wee was: What is your favorite seafood?
Shrimp
canyoureheat.com
The overall favorite seafood picked this week was no surprise to me, almost everyone loves shrimp! There are so many ways to prepare them, however, my favorite is skewered on the grill with Sriracha sauce on top. Very yummy with a garlicy and hot kick them. Thanks to all of the participants who chose these yummy little sea creatures: @sylmarill , @crazyphantombr , @henruc , @ronnie10 , @olaf.gui , @monsterbuster , @angeluxx , @hatdogsensei and @pablito.saldo .
Lobster
thespruceeats.com
Number two on the list today is lobster, which is no big surprise either. There are two types of lobster, the cold water and warm water. Maine and Australian lobsters are cold water, and the ones I used to catch on the reefs in Puerto Rico are warm water or rock lobster. Both are really good, but most people prefer the cold water variety for some reason. The cold water variety has claws and rock lobsters don't if you want to tell them apart.
A great choice by @gwajnberg , @daddydog , @suisver , @whywhy , @monkmasters , @kungfukid and @blitzzzz .
Crab
pacificseafood.com
Coming in third we had crab, kind of generic and only one person specified the type Dungeness (thanks @kerrislravenhill !) Crab is excellent, my only complaint is it takes some time to get to the meat. They have some tough shells... King crab is really good as well since it's nice and meaty, but expensive. Thanks for the pick to: @kerrislravenhill , @vp-freelance , @lecia89 , @longganisan and @dewabrata .
Clams
mashed.com
Now we're getting down to people with more specific tastes, clams came in at number four. Fresh clams always taste great, although expensive as of late. There are lots of way to prepare them, and all them are good! Thanks to @silverd510 , @cositav , @ladymisa and @katriel1 for this excellent pick.
Prawns
foodandwine.com
Prawns came in fifth, and not they are not giant shrimp. Prawns are similar to shrimp but they live in fresh water and can grow much larger. Many times if you are given giant shrimp they are actually prawns. Just like shrimp so many ways to cook them up, but grilled is my favorite!
Great pick by @imfarhad , @silvertop , @alexvan and @vcclothing .
Mussels
iheartrecipes.com
Now for some more tasty shell fish, mussels. These guys are great in just about everything. I've never tried them in a recipe like above, but it couldn't be bad! Thanks for the great taste from: @flummi97 , @stekene and @lumpiadobo .
Scallops
cleanfoodcrush.com
One of my absolute favorites are scallops, just like my friend @geneeverett . These sea creatures have a lot of meat to them and can be prepared so many ways. I think my favorite method is when they are wrapped in bacon, wow, that is good!
Tuna
asiatrend.org
So many ways to make tuna, and so many different varieties and levels of quality. I love fresh tuna, it tastes so good. Much of the higher quality is sold to restaurants and then the lower quality usually ends up on a tuna sandwich. It also has been becoming very expensive as of late especially for high quality but the taste can be worth it. Thanks to @rainbowdash4l and @josediccus for this pick!
As much as I would like to feature every pick a lot of the one's picked alone don't fit in, like chipichipis by @yusmelys . Salmon surprisingly came in this category from @logen9f and oysters by @tortangkahoy . Also in here were black cod by @vaynard86 , barnacles (which are really good) by @florakese , sea bass by @doombot75 , squid by @okarun , and white fish by @holdeck2 .
One that is really good and interesting to check out is the razor shellfish or spoot is Scotland. Thanks @tengolotodo , I've only had a chance to try these a couple of times over the years!
Today's entry question: What was your favorite toy growing up?
The Giveaway
I will be giving out one prize of five (5) HSBI. Second and Third prizes will be 2 DUO tokens, the token I recently launched with @bulliontools and @bitcoinman . It offers those who stake sufficient tokens daily curation on quality posts, dividends, and a tipping bot. It also helps to onboard and retain new Hive members. At the end of the post there is a link to the white paper and where to purchase the tokens. Fourth prize is 100 BBH tokens. Fifth prize will be 250 CCD tokens. To participate you need a reputation level of at least 25 and bots cannot win. And please one entry per person to make it fair to everyone.
@alohaed is generously kicking in two HSBI to the second place winner and one to the third place winner. Thanks for you support my friend!
If you would like to be placed on a weekly reminder list just let me know and I'll make sure you get tagged each week.
