Follow Along As I Build My YouTube Channel From Scratch!

Last year I started a new YouTube channel called Fit50sAndBeyond https://www.youtube.com/@Fit50sAndBeyond with the idea of reaching out to people in their 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond who want to maintain or improve their health and general fitness. Actually, the channel is intended to support my https://fit50s.com blog where I review health and fitness products such as Livegood supplements and discuss workouts and other health-related topics for oldies and goldies.

Progress was slow at first, and I only posted a couple of videos and a couple of shorts, but now I feel ready to build the YouTube channel into something much bigger - and I’d like you to follow me on this venture!

VidIQ

This week I started using a service called VidIQ to optimize my growth strategy. I opted for the "Boost" plan for a reasonable $14.95 per month (cheaper if you opt for the yearly sub, but for now, I'm satisfied with monthly payments).

What I like about VidIQ is that it gives me a clear roadmap and shows me what to do to each step of the way. If you’re interested, I’ll leave a link below this post so you can check it out too.

Walking-Talking Video

Okay, here's a walking-talking video I made on the fly talking about this new project and why you might want to follow my progress:

Yesterday morning, when I made the video (for my main https://www.youtube.com/@Hirohurl channel), my Fit50sAndBeyond channel had just 2 subscribers - and one of them was me! As I write this, Fit50sAndBeyond has 5 subscribers - three joined after reading my email broadcast about the video and the project!

My Monthly Goal

My goal is to publish at least eight videos per month (two per week, possibly more) and publish them on my Fit50s blog along with a supporting article based on the video content.

I’ll be documenting the entire process, so if you’re interested in starting or growing your own YouTube channel, this could be a great learning opportunity for you. Whether or not you’re over 50, you’re welcome to follow along.

Why Listen to Me?

My main YouTube channel, Hirohurl, currently has 950 subscribers. While that’s not a massive number - and it took me a long time to get close to 1,000 subscribers - I’ve learned a lot over the years about building an audience.

With this new project, I plan to improve my skills even further and share everything I learn along the way.

If you don’t yet have a YouTube channel but have thought about starting one, this could be the perfect time to jump in. You can learn alongside me as I experiment, refine my approach, and grow my audience.

YouTube: A Powerful Yet Underused Platform

Even though I have fewer than 1,000 subscribers, YouTube is my top source of referrals and commissions. It’s right up there with - or, to be more accurate, ahead of, LeadsLeap in terms of effectiveness.

The best part? YouTube is completely free. And yet, despite the massive number of people trying to make money online, surprisingly few take advantage of it. I suspect the main reason is that people don’t like putting their faces on camera - but trust me, you get used to it!

So, if you’re looking for inspiration, follow along with my journey and see if I can make real progress with this channel. I’ll be sharing everything. I'll discuss: how I come up with topics, how I create videos, how I grow my audience, and what results I'm getting from that process.

Join Me on This Journey

If you’re interested in YouTube growth, online business, or just want to follow along with my Fit 50s journey, I’d love to have you on board. You can:

Cheers!
