This particular organization is amazing, a huge asset to our communities. Among our generous gifts today was 6-pack jars of Subway sandwich dressing that was about to be discarded! Perfectly fine, non-expired, nothing wrong with it... but it was "excess" about about to be thrown away. Thankfully it was rescued and distributed by Forgotten Harvest.
This is amazing. I commend the Forgotten Harvest's selfless efforts to make food supplies available for people who needs them. I wish them all the best in their endeavors and more support the donors.
More restaurants and stores should do this instead of discarding the food…
Years ago, when we lived in Colorado, the Mrs. worked part-time at McDonald’s. At the end of the day, they would count up the leftover food items and toss them in the garbage. They were not allowed to give them away…. such a waste. ….
