Week 442 is officially 8.5 years of #beersaturday! Late to the party is fine so join our friend @detlev to create your own #beersaturday post with the gang at https://hive.blog/hive-187719/@detlev/beersaturday-442 !
In this edition, I am doing holiday things related to beer!

The Beer Exchange
You can read about our tour here but here is the prize at the end of that long drunkfest. 24 individually wrapped and numbered craft beers from across the country.

Beer #18 - Rise and Grind!
Being the 21st of December, I am 21 beers into the Advent Calendar of Craft Beer. I will probably share the highlights over the next couple weeks of #beersaturday but this one from Northern Crow Brewing They are exclusive and small enough they don't even have a web page so assuming I can say "You saw it here first!" A nice wintery snowman wrapping on this surprise.
The only mention I could see of this obscure beer from what looks like a fledgling brewery is the Untappd profile which is loaded with reviews from all the folks in on the beer exchange with us and sharing this on day 18.
A wonderful spin on a standard cream ale with added cacao nibs I am assuming to give this the solid yet not overwhelming coffee taste. Plenty delicious for only 4.5% abv and you can see how hypercarbed it was when even an experienced Beerologist can't get less than 6 inches of head when pouring.

Pubbing in Montreal!
Another nice December surprise was our trip up to La Belle Province for a weekend on the town in Montreal! One of my favourite cities with so much to offer and you can get a better taste at my first #worldmappin post at https://hive.blog/hive-163772/@zekepickleman/downtown-montreal-a-weekend-in-la-belle-province
Here, my partners and I are enjoying a couple Quebec IPAs and a Guinness while enjoying the hockey game on the television. As one does in a hockey town and the team is playing on the road.
It was quite a fun pub crawl that brought us to neat bars and restaurants including this last stop for a bit more IPA and overtime in the game. Les 3 Brasseurs (the 3 Brewers!) is a great place to enjoy great local craft beer and catch the game with other Canadiens obsessed fans!

Beers in the Studio
My birthday was in December as well which is the perfect opportunity to head to the big city for a little music with the guys. A little debauchery and Rock n Roll is always on tap and a few too many beers no matter how old you get is a perfect part of the jam. Stocking Toe Clementine Pale Ale is a little lighter at 4.5% ABV but damn citrussy with the clementine additive and perfect for soothing the throat during a 3-hour singing session.

#BEERSaturday!
Check out my wall of fame/shame! Fame if you are a craft beer enthusiast with an obsession with IPA. Shame if you as my wife who is not impressed with my empty wall!
Now it is time for you to join me, @detlev , and these other beerologists because there is always room for more beer bloggers at this week's Beer Saturday gathering... https://hive.blog/hive-187719/@detlev/beersaturday-442 Cheers to holiday beers!
