#BurgerSaturday Week 3: First Time at MOS Burger

in #burgersaturday11 hours ago

It’s officially my 3rd week of this little tradition I call #BurgerSaturday, where I treat myself to a burger meal every Saturday and then sit down to blog about it. Burgers are one of my favourite Western comfort foods, so this weekly ritual feels like a tiny celebration at the end of the week.

To be honest, when it comes to fast-food style burgers, I’m usually very biased. McDonald’s cheeseburger has always been my default order. I know it’s not the best or the healthiest burger out there, but there’s a strong nostalgia attached to that familiar taste. It’s the kind of flavour that reminds me of quick meals, late nights, and simple cravings.

But today I decided to break away from habit and try something new. MOS Burger popped into my mind, and I realised I had never actually tried their burgers before. So I headed there and walked into a bright, wood-toned space with a clean, cozy vibe. The signboard was glowing, there were Christmas promos at the entrance, and the seating felt comfortable enough for a slow, lazy Saturday meal.

For my first MOS experience, I went for the MOS Cheeseburger set, burger, fries, and a Minute Maid orange drink. The meal arrived on a tray with the burger neatly wrapped, fries in a paper pouch, sauces on the side, and a tall cup of drink waiting to be sipped. Simple, but it looked promising.

Let’s talk about the fries first because they really surprised me. These are thick-cut fries, freshly cooked, crispy on the outside and soft, moist on the inside. That contrast of textures is exactly what I love in fries. I honestly find them better than McDonald’s fries, sorry McD, but MOS wins this round LOL. I could happily just munch on those fries while scrolling my phone and already feel satisfied.

Then came the star of the show, the MOS Cheeseburger.

Their version comes with a thick slice of tomato, a substantial beef patty, cheese, and… fresh onions. Here’s the thing, I’m not a fan of raw onions. I prefer caramelised onions that turn sweet and soft. If I had known beforehand, I would’ve asked them to remove the fresh onions. But since everything was already assembled nicely, I just decided to eat it as it is.

The saving grace (and actually the highlight) was their special burger sauce.

It reminded me a bit of chili con carne, savoury, slightly tangy, a little meaty in flavour. At first bite it felt unusual, but the more I ate, the more I enjoyed it. Together with the juicy tomato, melted cheese, and that thick patty, the burger felt hearty and substantial, like a “real” burger compared to my usual McDonald’s cheeseburger.

The orange drink helped cut through the heaviness of the meal, adding a refreshing citrus lift between bites. By the time I finished, I was full, satisfied, and pretty happy that I stepped out of my McDonald’s comfort zone. Overall, everything worked well for me, except the fresh onions, which will definitely be removed on my next visit.

So that’s #BurgerSaturday Week 3 in the bag. MOS Burger has officially earned a spot on my burger map, and I’m already curious where Week 4 will take me. If you have any burger recommendations, send them my way, this Saturday tradition is just getting started. 🍔✨

Ohh, this is actually a fun one, #SaturdayBurger, it could be a cute challenge too. Like maybe try different kind of burger stand in the surroundings or the place you visit. Sounds fun. Anyways, seeing this made me crave for burger as well. But for burgers I really prepared those street style burgers, those burger stand that usually found in a roadside or something haha. Most famous fast food chain doesn't use veggies on their burgers 🫠🫠. I want my burgers with raw cabbage or lettuce and with cucumber. Have you already tried this version there? The MOS burgers looks really good too esp the fries. Why it looks like they used a fresh cut potatoes in there and not the frozen one.

That’s a fun idea! A weekly burger challenge would be awesome. I’ve tried a few street-style versions here... love the veggie-loaded ones too. And yes, MOS fries really feel like fresh-cut potatoes 😄🍟✨

This looks like Causeway Point! MOS burger is nice just that the burger is a little smaller to fill my tummy. Prefer Carls Junior.

Haha yes, this is at Causeway Point! MOS is good, but true, their burgers are a bit small.

Carl’s Jr definitely fills the tummy more 😄🍔
