The insolence of cats

We all know in theory that cats are selfish creatures, but it's all ok when it's just a theory. But when you experience it firsthand, it hurts 😹
I've already told you about the neighbor's feral cat, whom I named Richy (look at him in the picture above, doesn't he look like a little garden gnome straight out of a fairy tale 😻), even though he's not called that. I have already told you how he used to come to the garden almost every day, how much time he spent with us, how every time we went out into the street he came from the neighboring house to greet us... And although it was obvious that he was quite wild and lacked manners, he allowed me to pet him and even pick him up in my arms.
I just got used to him.
And I also felt sorry for him because his humans had left him to live alone while they spent winter in the city.

But then it warmed up, spring came, and his humans came back. And since then, Richy hasn't paid me any attention. He does not come to greet us. He doesn't come even when I call him, even when I see him on the fence of his house and call him, he pretends he doesn't know me, lol 😹.
Can you imagine the audacity of this? I was going to adopt him before I found out who this kitten really belonged to. But I fed him, petted him and entertained him for a very long time anyway... To get this in response!
Can you imagine that?

Don't take it personal, it was fun while it lasted but Richy has a family to uphold 😹

You're right, I do take it too personally when it comes to cats. 😃 But the problem is that I'm not even sure if cats are loyal and faithful even to their owners. My cats at least, I don't think they are, since one of them sometimes goes missing for months, or is gone for days. I believe he has two address registrations, as I said. 😹 And that makes me quite sad.
