RE: My Experience of Using HELIOS.VOTER: Russophobia or Unfortunate Mistake?

in #censorship10 months ago (edited)

Sorry, but to "disagree with the content" one provides on Hive, is not a valid reason for a downvote. A downvote is to fight against scam, plagiarism, personal insults or illegal content like child porn, but not just the use of free speech! In fact this is what Hive makes unique, that everybody can express his opinions, without being censored! If you attack this by a downvote, you directly attack free speech!
And like @vp-freelance said, you should have warned people that you would apply an additional political censorship filter that prevents rewards from posts of opposing opinions. In fact you better add this now on your explanation posts, so that people are warned in future and rethink if they want to send money to such a voting system!

Hello @stayoutoftherz,

Who downvoted whom? I canceled the vote value by re-voting with 0%. I am not flagging anyone. I never believe flagging is the solution. Without having a proper idea of the mechanism I used, it's better not to accuse people.

My point is, Ukraine is in a war, and Mr. Putin is challenging the sovereignty of that country. We accept free speech, but in this sensitive matter, we have different viewpoints. We want to see the end of this Russian occupation against a country. This might be a very bad move, and most small countries near powerful ones will be in danger since this.

Anyway, that's off-topic for me. And I didn't hold funds or steal funds. What I did was re-voted two posts with a 0% vote value to remove the previously assigned rewards. This also reduced our curation of the post.

Have a nice day!

OK not downvoting, but revoting to 0% after a customer has paid for a service, this is not fair.
Free speech means that even opinions which one doesn´t like have a right to be expressed without penalty!
