RE: Comparing Thailand to Vietnam - while the wound is still fresh pt. 2

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY2 days ago

My most favourite Vietnamese in Berlin closed.
And my local, around the corner, Thai restaurant closed at home in Amsterdam. But that aside.
I did like the curries in that Berlin joint. Very very very much.
But indeed, Thai food I truly like, as well.
Tomorrow we're going to have dinner in a new place in town, Pho centered.

I was dumbstruck when I saw the scooters driving in Vietnam. At crossings, no traffic lights, or not working traffic lights, they come from everywhere, but nobody hit one another. Amazing, Must be given in the gens, must be!

Also, just out of curiosity, what Vietnamese food did you like. Since I lost interest in it generally speaking some time ago, maybe I simply haven't tried the "best" things yet. If you can recall the name of it or just a description it would be appreciated.

if you can recall the name

Uhm, not easy, no idea honestly. Was a kinda curry, on rise or noodles. With meat, choice between chicken, pork and duck. They had two flavours of curry. Will check with a friend, she may know the names. Could also be a kinda home made recipes based on the Vietnamese kitchen, not sure.

Must admit, when travelling Vietnam, we ate almost every day Pho on the street. After a bit of time, this gets very boring. Some European food I needed after a few days. We found Pizza 4P and ate there a few times. Loved the pizza for the continent we were on and the concept/restaurant itself.

It is pretty amazing that there aren't accidents just all day every day here in Vietnam because I am unaware of a single stop sign existing in this entire city and there are thousands of intersections. I guess it kind of works but I am rather terrified when I drive my scooter or ride my bicycle.
