Here’s my midnight snack for today. Actually, it’s my super late dinner, LOL. I’m not very proud of this because I started my Monday with a bad habit: I skipped dinner and now I’m eating way too close to bedtime. I’m making a mental note not to do this again and to plan my day better.
It wasn’t intentional. It just so happened that I got stuck in a meeting, and it ended up lasting until almost 10 PM. By the time I realized it, it was already too late. The hawker centers around Kallang were all closed. Too bad. I was really craving a nice dinner, but I didn’t get the chance to make it happen.
So I ended up having a polo char siew bun, and it wasn’t even a good one. It was too sweet, and the filling was dry. I used to enjoy this kind of food, but as I get older, it’s become harder to tolerate. Sweet stuff doesn’t satisfy me anymore. In fact, it has the opposite effect. I end up regretting it. But I was too hungry to be picky, and honestly, it’s my fault for letting it get to that point.
Anyway, I’ve learned my lesson, and I’ll definitely do better next time.
I also took a photo of the Kallang MRT station, the entrance view. It’s a station that’s usually not too busy or crowded, except when there’s an event at the Kallang Stadium. Then, it becomes the main drop-off point for attendees.
Kallang used to be one of the nicer stations, which is why I’m quite disappointed that it’s become so dilapidated. It really needs some renovation, especially the toilet facilities. Honestly, I’d say it’s the filthiest MRT station I’ve seen. I wonder why it’s like that. I’m curious why other stations are much cleaner. Maybe the newer stations are under more pressure to maintain clean restrooms.
Well, I hope Kallang station gets the much-needed facelift it deserves.
Life doesn’t always go as planned, but each misstep is a reminder to slow down and take better care of ourselves. Even small lessons, like tonight’s late dinner, can lead to better habits. Here’s to doing better tomorrow and appreciating the little moments along the way.
