Grilled Sweet Potatoes and Potato on Charcoal

in #food9 months ago

Today, I am going to share some photos of grilled sweet potatoes which we cooked on Charcoal. As you know I already shared some pictures of the barbecue a few days ago. So from leftover coal, we cooked these sweet potatoes on it. One potato was also added to it by my husband. I had 5 sweet potatoes and we cooked all of them on the coal. It was not planned but the result was so good that next time I will do it with a barbecue as well. Insha Allah. Have a look at the entire post you may like it.

The image below was captured when they were half-done. You can see the potato as well in the picture.

Don't worry about the colour of these edges. The outer skin burnt on the coal but the inner was not.

The fully cooked sweet potatoes you can see below. These three were cooked earlier before clicking pictures. I didn't take pictures of three of them. I was not sure whether it cooked or not on the coal. It looks like burned vegies but trust me they were not. The first batch was more cooked but the skin was more cooked not the inner pulp.

You can see them after peeling off the skin. Trust me it was very pleasing to see and eat.

You can sprinkle some salt and squeeze a few lemon drops on top of it if you like it. Otherwise, the coal flavour in the sweet potatoes and potato turned delicious. I must say it was a sudden idea to cook them on coal but surely successful and nice.

That is all about today's post. I hope you like it. See you soon Insha Allah. Have a nice weekend and stay happy.

That's one of my favourite thing, if you are familiar with the Urdu name of it shakar Kandi. Thanks for sharing

@tipu curate

This looks kind of tasty.
In which part of the world this dish is cooked?

Sweet potato is usually cooked in Asia on coal for best taste.

Yeah I remember probably we used to do this in childhood here in Asia.
