Crypto Cooking - Wild Game Skewers

in #foodiebeehive2 hours ago

Game is game! Today I cooked a pheasant, venison and partridge dish in under a few minutes, and getting that balance right made all the difference. It’s all about the transformation.

I picked up a pack of diced game meats from the butchers... but had no real plan for them at first! It had seasoned venison, pheasant, and partridge... so a strong protein combo!

After staring at it for a bit, I decided to keep it simple and go for wild game skewers. It just felt right! Something rustic, a bit bold, and perfect for mixing flavors.

I started by throwing the meat into a marinade overnight. Nothing too complicated, just elements that will enhance the game! Left it all to soak in properly and do its thing

Just fresh herbs straight from the garden, a blend of spices, plus few slices of orange to bring a bit of brightness and cut through the richness of the game.

One day you’re searing pheasant to get that crisp golden skin, the next you’re working with venison or partridge and trying to balance each's character and quirks.

It's hard! Ever notice how balancing flavors with game feels like walking a tightrope? Too much heat and it toughens up, too little and you miss that deep, rich flavor.

Next day, it was time to build the skewers! I went full Vlad Dracula mode, threading chunks of venison, pheasant, and partridge onto the skewers with zero hesitation.

I broke it up with vegetables in between, baby corn, chunks of onion, and peppers, so everything cooks evenly and you get that mix of flavors in every bite.

While that was coming together, I got the potatoes going. Chopped them up, tossed them lightly in spices and a dusting of flour so they’d crisp up properly like on TV!

Added rosemary for that deep earthy flavor and straight into the oven to roast until golden and crunchy on the outside, but soft in the middle. Roast potatoes are an art!

The skewers hit the grill next. Gave them about five minutes and was enough to get a solid sear on the outside while keeping the inside juicy. You could smell it straight away!

Cooking and game meat share some surprisingly rich similarities… both demand the right ingredients, perfect timing, and just enough experimentation to keep things interesting.

My neighbors could smell that mix of char, herbs, and slightly sweet citrus from the marinade coming through. In a way was similar to flexing top airdrops on X!

The story was not done yet! I served everything up with an extra side of baby corn and a drizzle of sweet chilli sauce for a bit of contrast. I feel hungry even when I remember!

The richness of the game, the crisp potatoes, the slight heat and sweetness! It all just came together in a way that felt way more thought-out than it actually was.

No long cooking time, no complicated technique! PVM needs just heat, timing, and a few good ingredients. Here's the poof that the simplest dishes hit the hardest.

Whether it’s the kitchen or crypto charts... it’s all about reading the moment, trusting your instincts, and knowing when to let things ride. Don't forget... game is game!
