Hello friends at the Hive!
Yesterday I got a fortune of qurban meat, alhamdulillah! Today I immediately thought of cooking something a little different than usual. Instead of sautéing or making soup, I made a homemade version of beef rica-rica seasoning, but guaranteed to make your tongue dance !!! 😋
This recipe is perfect for those of you who like savory, spicy food and a touch of sweetness... Indonesian rica-rica seasoning never fails. Let's go straight to the kitchen !!
🛒 Ingredients I Used:
- 500 grams of beef (I used the one from yesterday's qurban)
- 3 tablespoons of tapioca flour (for crunchy texture)
- 8 shallots
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 10 peppercorns
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of flavoring (optional)
- 1 piece of brown sugar
- Cooking oil to taste
- 100 ml of water
👩🍳 How to Cook
1. Cut the meat thinly to make it tender quickly ..
2. Coat the meat with tapioca flour, then fry half-cooked. Drain..
3. Puree all spices except brown sugar.
4. Saute the spices until fragrant.
5. Add water, add meat and brown sugar slices.
6. Cook over low heat until water is reduced and spices are fully absorbed ..
🤤 The flavor? No play !
The meat is tender but still has texture. The spicy seasoning is sweet and savory, just perfect for rica-rica fans. The rice? Definitely more !!!
Cooking like this makes my heart happy, especially when I can share it on Hive. I hope you like my simple recipe too. I personally really like to explore home cooking from the ingredients available.
If you have your own idea or favorite version of rica-rica, share it too! Who knows, it could be the inspiration for your next dish .. 😊
Thanks for stopping by my kitchen today. See you in the next recipe!
