Hello, friends at Hive Food. I hope you are all healthy and happy, making or eating something delicious to share with the community!
Although this dish I'm going to show you in this post is Chinese, it's more commonly associated with Chinese-American cuisine. And since here in Venezuela we do everything our own way, I decided to make a Venezuelan-style chop suey! I hope you like it and feel inspired to make it yourself!
INGREDIENTS
INGREDIENTS:
- 250 g chicken breast
- 1/2 green pepper
- 1 small onion
- 1 small carrot
- 2 cloves of garlic
- Chives
- Salt and pepper
- Soy sauce
- Wheat flour
PREPARATION
First, wash all the vegetables thoroughly, cut the green pepper into julienne strips along with the carrot, slice the onion into thin strips, and chop the garlic into very small pieces.

Once the vegetables and chicken breast have been cut into thin strips, heat the olive oil in a frying pan. Cook the harder vegetables first, then add the softer ones.
First, sauté the carrots for 2 minutes, then add the bell pepper and sauté for another 2 minutes.
Add the sliced onion and sauté for 1 minute, season with salt and pepper, and set aside in a bowl.
Sauté the garlic a little to give the chicken a rich flavor.
Add the chicken breast strips to the pan for 5 minutes, then add a pinch of salt and pepper.
When the chicken has cooked for 5 minutes, add the vegetables that you sautéed earlier.
We add half a teaspoon of soy sauce. I like that brand because it makes the food taste really good.
Then add a teaspoon of wheat flour to thicken the dish slightly.
The final touch that adds a lot of flavor is the green onion. Add it and you're done!
I served it with white rice and fried ripe plátanos! In a Venezuelan home, fried plátanos are a must at lunchtime!
Ready! Let's eat!
I hope you feel inspired to try this recipe. It's delicious and, as you saw, very easy to make!😋
