1st attempt at banana bread!

in Hive Food7 days ago

I am back! Today we made banana bread ^^ you ask why banana bread? because we have so many overripe bananas in the house and through reserch, it's apparently one of the easiest thing you can start off from in the baking world. Personally, I just like banana bread too so I talked my sister's into making it with me so we can have really nice dessert ^^

For the ingredients we used:

4 bananas
2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup melted butter
1tsp baking powder
1tsp baking soda
2 eggs
1 cup water or milk. We used water this time because we forgot that we bought milk XD
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 cup chocolate chips
1/3 cup oatmeal for texture
a few pinches of salt to balance the sweet

This is all our ingredients XD messy table, I know but we are not very organized bakers yet.

So to start the recipe, we used 4 bananas XD (yes, we have that many overripe bananas) and we mashed them in a bowl then when that's mashed, we added the eggs ^^

Then we added the butter, vanilla and the water

Not too appetizing yet, I know XD but after mixing all the wet ingredients, we then added the powders and kept mixing and mixing XD for now we're only using a fork but eventually we will get a whisk and a spatula. Maybe I'll get tools on the next pay day ^^ It's not too far off.

Then we added the chocolate chip and the oatmeal last before we poured them ito the pans lined with wax paper

we sprinkled a little extra chocolate chips on top then went to baking ^^ for this we set the temp to 170 ad baked for 30 minutes

The end result:

It was really good banana breac, I swear. I'd say it was on parwith the one I had in Palawan, and so far, that was one of the best banana breads I've ever had! I think we could eventually sell these if we figured out how to portion them better or maybe we could sell them in bars and little loaf but for now,
I'd say this recipe is a keeper ^^
I believe next time we plan to make pretzels and I think I wanna try pretzel stick with cream cheese filling soooooo this is something to look forward to next weekend ^^

Well, that's all for my kitchen update today! I need to work harder to get more baking ingredients XD

Sort:

That first banana bread win is everything. Four overripe bananas down, and a loaf that rivals your favorite memory, no small feat. Next time, though, you’re adding pretzel sticks? Bold. Just hope the cream cheese doesn’t get soggy before the bake timer dings.

nah i don't think the cream cheese would get soggy like that but i just hope i get the dough right

Thank youuu ☺️

You did a great job because it is very well made and looks very delicious.
