This is the second part of Birthdays on April 22nd. The fact is that @octocel's birthday is on the same day as my mother. So it is a day with two celebrations.
After having lunch with mom, I waited for a time to get to see my girlfriend and take her out for some cake and coffee. For her present, I had bought some rapidographs by Sakura. These are some of the things illustrators use to outline their drawings. They are some really cool art supplies I knew she would like. The other present were some beautiful flowers I found in my usual spot for buying them. Although, I had a hard time choosing them. This time, I decided to get some roses since the color on the ones I got was beautiful.
Once I was with her, we spent some time talking before going to the café. It is a sort of hidden place called Macadamia, yes like the nuts. It is a place best known for its interesting desserts. They sell healthy desserts and other things. On the side of coffee, they sell machine coffee. I think it is Nescafe or something similar. Nothing very fancy on that front. Nevertheless, the dessert are some of the best things I have eaten in this city.
There are many ones to choose there. @octocel had a chocolate cake. The ones that are usually called Matilda. It is a homage at the well-known scene of Bruce eating the cake. I had a pistachio cake. Both were really good. The latter was a really exotic dessert. I could've never guessed pistachios go so well in cake.
We had a fun time talking a bit more and then going back to spent more time together until I had to get back home for my mother's birthday. But just you look at her smile. That's the kind of I love more than good desserts!
