I stumbled upon this Fair of Cacao last week without intending to go. This event did not have any kind of publicity. I saw some people from local TV taking statements from government people, but it was all just a facade.
Anyhow, the event held in the main mall of the city was all about the Cacao that comes from Paria, the other side of the state and they side that is all about fishing and agriculture. Cacao from Paria is somethibg that has been praised for years. They chocolate made from this cacao is one of the best in the world.
The produce brought to showcase the wonders of this cacao were amazing. You could see many kinds of chocolates, alcohol, paste and many other things. There was reven jewelry made with the leftovers of chocolate productions. That is to say the external part of cacao. Talk about using all the available resources.
I had down free samples of many things around the tables and all of them were amazing. However, I could not buy anything the starting day since I had other expenses in mind. However, it was nice to meet some of the good people from the other side of the state that are doing something about the produce of their land.
Hopefully there will be another fair sometime soon and then I'll get to buy a lot of chocolate.
