New Year's Eve dinner was marked by both simplicity and the addition of some interesting features. For instance, we had the tray of cheese, ham, pepperoni and chorizo. It had been an idea my mom kept in the backburner for quite some time. She wanted a different kind of tray. But regardless of what she ordered, she would've complained about it. That's the spirit of purchases around the house.
The meal was the tray, some bread and more pork ribs. That was enough to close such a weird yet interesting year such as 2024. I prepared the drinks with soda, sangra and lemon pieces. Earlie, I had also made a brownie. To my surprise we also had a pint of coffee ice cream to go along dessert.
And we spent the night talking for a bit until I was too tired to keep at this tradition of staying awake until the new year came. Then, I went to sleep. However, I didn't fell asleep too quickly. I was caught in the thought of having met my fans last year, got back into a relationship, had the contents of not one but two books ready, taught my first poetry workshop, and did so many other things just by virtue of getting out of my cave. It was also a bad year as a luthier with only 2 things bringing income to the workshop. And it was also the year of slowly getting back into exercise. Dinner wasn't exactly fitness, but the meals during December are not on that spectrum.
I also have to add that I got up early next morning to go for a walk and workout.
