It seems to be the usual thing to arrive at @octocel's grandfather's house and have a bowl of soup. The best part of this is that it has been different kinds of soup each time. This particular one was during the first day of the year. It was a beef, but particularly ribs. One of my favorites.
The idea of the day was having this lunch and then starting a Scrabble tournament. However, things didn't go as planned. They playing started late. I got the last place on the first round knocking me off the playoffs.
Anyways, I got the spend the day watching @octocel do her covers for some notebooks she was binding before her trip to Barquisimeto.
And having soup and watching the family together reminded me of the days when my grandparents where still around and the whole family would gather during such days for having soup as a hangover cure and also to talk and tell jokes. We weren't big on board games, but I did play some UNO with my cousins.
The best part besided the company is having a big bowl of soup to keep the energies high and go through the day. It was a nice way to start this year.
