Hey lovelies ❤️

Welcome to my blog 🤗

About two weeks ago I shared my thoughts about how we have been enjoying abundance of fruits during every fruit season in my compound ever since I moved to the apartment - all thanks to my landlord's garden. In case you missed it you can catch up with it HERE. Well, if you can recall I shared that the mangoes as at that time were not ripe yet but in the last few days we have been spotting one or two ripe ones on the tree. Yaaaay.

This evening I decided that we would be having some mangoes for dinner. So I had to wait for my husband to return from work because I can't pluck them by myself. When he got back, even though it was already getting dark gradually, we walked down to the tree with a long stick and our bowl. We were able to spot some ripe ones and they were big and juicy.

The size of the mangoes are out of this world. They were so big that I find it difficult to finish two. Not to forget, we washed the mangoes thoroughly before placing them in the refrigerator to cool a bit. The taste and the feeling was entirely amazing when it was a bit chilly. One more thing that is worthy of mention is that the mangoes were not soft but they are hard and crunchy. I love my mangoes when they give that crunchy feel as opposed to that which is soft and the water drains from the hands to the elbow.

In the Hive Food community, I have come across some posts where some amazing members of the community cook with mangoes or make drinks with mangoes. I will be trying some of those recipes out one of these days especially the drink making ones. This is where the over ripe mangoes will come handy. These hard and crunchy ones may not serve the purpose. There is nothing that beats enjoying a cup of chilled freshly blended fruits with your family.

If you could also recall, I mentioned my concerns about birds that cause an uncontrollable havoc to the mangoes on the tree. This time around it seems the birds started the party before us. They have started eating the mangoes halfway on the tree which rots and in turn attracts flies. Now we are beginning to face the usual occurrence of flies swarming around the spoiled mangoes fruits, just that it is quite early than usual. However, we'd try to enjoy the mangoes while it last before the birds and flies take a total control of the tree.

Yah, great party for the birds, hehehe.
Wow, the mangoes are big and looks yummy too. Who wouldn't be tempted to have a bite? Not even the birds can resist them. Hehehe.
This is just how I like my mangoes to be, not overripe.

See eh, just each your own and allow the birds to eat theirs too, and everyone will be fine. 🤣
!BBH

The birds are always present for their annual feast. They don't miss it for any reason lol.

Yes, the mangos are quite big and sweet.😋

See eh, just each your own and allow the birds to eat theirs too, and everyone will be fine. 🤣

There's nothing we can do for now. We'd enjoy ours while they feed on theirs too.

Thanks for stopping by.
