How to Make It
Peel Potatoes

Take 1 kg potatoes and peel them.
Cut Fries

Cut potatoes into 1/4-inch fries with a knife or machine.
Add Spies

Time to add spices to make these fries tasty.
(Mix 2 tbsp cumin, 1/2 tbsp red chili powder, 1/2 tbsp salt, and 7 tbsp chickpea flour.)

The magic of spices is about to begin!

Look at those spices sticking to the fries! Ready for the next step.
Mix with Water

Sprinkle a little water on fries to help spices stick and mix well.
Fry Fries

- Heat oil on medium-high heat.
- Test oil with one fry, it should sizzle (about 350°F).
- Fry fries in batches for 3-4 minutes until golden.

Golden and crispy! Drain them to remove extra oil.

Fries are done and ready to eat! So crispy and yummy! Let me show you how I made the sauce.
Make Sauce

- Mix 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp crushed red chili
- 1/4 tbsp lemon juice.

After mixing, Sauce is ready! It’s creamy, spicy and tangy.
Serve

Serve fries in paper pockets. These pockets are so cool! They held fries well, even without tape. Enjoy!
Behind the Scenes
My 5-year-old niece inspired this fries recipe post. I was chatting about Hive with someone on a call when she overheard and ran to me shouting “That’s a fairy!” (because of her voice) I laughed and agreed “Yes, a fairy!” She begged to talk to the fairy, but I said “She only speaks English.”
After the call ended, I explained that I write English stories daily for the fairy, and if she likes them, she sometimes sends gifts. I didn’t think much of it then.
Later, at a doctor’s visit with her mom, she kept asking to spell English words like “door” and other stuff. Her mom, curious, asked why. My niece replied “I’ll learn English fast to talk to the fairy like Mamo Qasim and I might end up getting some gifts too!”
This morning, she grabbed paper and pencil, asking me to spell words for practice.
This fries post is because of her. She said “Mamo, make fries, then write an English story for the fairy. If she likes the fries, we might get some gifts!” This recipe is her idea. She’s thrilled to learn English and chat with the fairy someday.
I plan to take my niece to a bounce house, get ice cream, and enjoy snacks. If she keeps learning new word spellings, I’ll give her more fairy treats and say it’s a gift from the fairy for her.
