Hot pan buns, hot pan buns
One a penny, two a penny
Hot pan buns
Give them to your daughter
Give them to your son
One a penny, two a penny
Hot pan buns~♪
Hello... Hive Food Community!
Familiar to that song? I guess y'all know it as "Hot Cross Buns" song. But i changed the lyrics a bit. Now it's become "Hot Pan Buns", because that's the food i made today.
My family loves breads and buns very much. We always eat them with milk for breakfast, or just as snacks. Also, it's perfect to bring them in a lunchbox for school or trips. We usually buy them at nearest stores. But recently, i learned the bread and bun recipes. So i often make them for my family now.
Making buns isn't really difficult, even without an oven. I'd love to show you Hot Pan Buns, the homemade mini buns with fillings and baked on a frying pan. The procedures aren't hard, even for newbies. And the ingredients are easy to get. Let's check it out!
Wheat flour | 150 grams (10 tbsp) |
Eggs | 2 |
Sugar | 15 grams (1 tbsp) |
Margarine | min. 40 ml |
Instant yeast | 5 grams (1 tsp) |
Choco/cheese/jam | For filling |
As usual, wash your hands first. Prepare all the ingredients.
Mix the flour with sugar. Add instant yeast and margarine. Mix them well with a spoon.
After that, use a small bowl for the eggs. Beat the eggs and add them to the flour mixture. Actually, it's better when we beat the eggs together with instant yeast, but i added the yeast at first to the flour hahaha...
Then mix them again for a while until it forms a dough. Leave the dough for 30 minutes in a covered bowl.
After that, knead the dough for a few minutes by your hands. Place it to wider surface so you can freely knead it.
Divide the dough into 16 parts. Then we can add the filling for the buns. You can use chocolate, cheese, jam or anything you like. I used grated cheese for my buns.
Flatten the dough and then fill it. Cover it again when filled.
Well, after we filled all the dough, cover them and leave again for an hour. They'll have their sizes doubled.
Next, put the dough into non-sticky frying pan. I just put 8 of them because my frying pan isn't big enough. So i had 2 sessions of baking.
Cover the frying pan and bake in a very low heat.
After 15 minutes, flip the buns so they'll be baked perfectly. Bake again for 5-10 minutes.
It's done when they look like this. Place them in a plate. Repeat these baking steps for the rest of the dough.
And... Yeay! The Hot Pan Buns are ready! No oven needed to make this delicious meal, you know?
Take a look! It's crunchy outside and fluffy inside. The cheese melts in my mouth. Perfect to serve while it's still hot. And don't forget to share them with our family or friends. I'm sure they'll love it!
Well guys, that's my post for today. It's easy, right? Just try it yourself at home! Thanks for visiting my blog and see ya next time! :D
