Mathri is an popular indian deep fried snack recipe made with all-purpose flour and cormon seeds. It is flaky, crispy and delicious snacks, has a similar texture to any popular biscuit with a longer shelf life without any preservative yes you can made the mathri store in the air-tight container, can be enjoyed anytime, even you can have it while travelling, in my home Whenever we go on a journey, my mother prepares Mathri for us so that if we don't get anything to eat on the way, we can eat Mathri to satisfy our stomach. Try this recipe,you will really like it.

Ingredients 📃


• 2 cup Maida(all-purpose Flour).
• 1 tbsp ajwain(carom seeds).
• 2 tbsp Ghee(clarified Butter).
• Salt to taste.
• water for kneading.
• oil for frying


Process 📃

firstly, in a large bowl take add the flour and other ingredients mentioned above one after the another.

cumble and mix well making sure to form a moist flour.

Now add water as required and knead the dough. Make Sure knead to a tight dough, add more Water if Required.

punch a small ball sizes dough as shown in the picture.

Flattened with Hands, Repeat the process with remaining dough.

With the Rolling pin, Make small Circle as shown in the picture.

pick using a fork to prevent from puffing.

Repeat the whole process with the remaining Dough.

Heat the good amount of oil in the kadai/frying pan.

Add the mathri one after the another in hot Oil, once your mathri started changing it's colour, fry the mathri in medium flame to make it crispy.

Keep turning mathri so that it fry well from both sides.

now continue to fry on low to medium flame till they turn crispy and golden in colour.

Drain off the mathri over kitchen paper to absorb excess oil.

Serve the hot Mathri with Pickle,the best part of the mathri is you can store in the air-tight container for 10-20 days, can be you enjoyed it anytime.
