To stay healthy, energetic, and strong every day, we must pay close attention to what we put on our plates; good nutrition is the foundation of our well-being. That is why I am delighted to share this tasty recipe with you for arepas enriched with oats and carrots. This version not only puts a delicious twist on the traditional arepa but also provides plenty of fiber—thanks to the oats—and a healthy dose of vitamins and antioxidants from the carrots. They turn out incredibly soft on the inside and toasted on the outside, making them ideal for an energizing breakfast that keeps you going all morning, or for a light dinner that won't feel heavy before bedtime. Plus, it is a fantastic, colorful way to get children to eat their vegetables without a fuss.

Best of all, they take just a few minutes to prepare, using ingredients you surely already have in your pantry. Without further ado, I invite you to grab a pen and paper. Make a note of the ingredients and the simple preparation method.

Hola, mis queridos amigos de Hive Food, espero que se encuentren muy bien y pasando un feliz día.Para estar saludables, enérgicos y fuertes cada día, debemos prestar especial atención a lo que ponemos en nuestro plato; la buena alimentación es la base de nuestro bienestar. Es por eso que hoy me complace compartir con ustedes esta sabrosa receta para preparar unas arepas enriquecidas con avena y zanahoria.Esta versión no solo le da un giro delicioso a nuestra tradicional arepa, sino que también aporta muchísima fibra gracias a la avena y una buena dosis de vitaminas y antioxidantes por la zanahoria. Su textura queda increíblemente suave por dentro y tostada por fuera, lo que las hace ideales tanto para un desayuno energético que nos rinda toda la mañana, como para una cena ligera que no caiga pesada antes de dormir. Además, es una forma fantástica y colorida de hacer que los niños coman vegetales sin protestar.

Lo mejor de todo es que se preparan en pocos minutos y con ingredientes que seguro ya tienen en su despensa.Sin más preámbulos, los invito a buscar papel y lápiz. Tomen nota de los ingredientes y del sencillo procedimiento para prepararlas.

Preparation:
These tasty arepas are very easy to prepare. We process the carrot and add it to the flour along with the oats; then, we add water and begin kneading until the dough feels smooth.

Es muy fácil de preparar estas sabrosas arepas. Rellenamos la zanahoria y se la vertimos a la harina junto a la avena; agregamos agua y comenzamos a amasarla hasta que sintamos que está tersa.

Once the arepas are ready, place them on the griddle, which has been previously greased with butter or a teaspoon of oil.

Cuando tengamos ya las arepas listas, las colocamos en el budare previamente engrasado con mantequilla o una cucharadita de aceite.

We flip them until they are golden brown, then take them off the heat and prepare them to taste with grated cheese or, if preferred, with ham and butter.

Las volteamos hasta que estén doraditas para poder sacarlas y prepararlas al gusto con queso rallado o, si prefieren, con jamón y mantequilla.
