Hey lovely Hive Food Community friends! 🌸
I hope you all are living a beautiful and peaceful life. I usually start my morning with a cup of tea. I love to make tea in different ways, and honestly, it’s one of my favorite things — the best way to begin my day! Among all types, my most favorite is Masala Tea. Every morning, I make either lemon tea, masala tea, malta tea, or coffee — but nothing beats the taste of tea made by my own hands! ☕💛
It’s almost winter now — the mornings are slightly foggy and cool. I’ve always loved drinking tea, and honestly, I don’t have any specific “tea time.” I think all tea lovers will agree with me — we don’t need a timetable for tea! 😄
In this gentle winter weather, I was really craving a warm cup of tea. And if the tea is special — freshly made and served with two biscuits — nothing could be better! ☕🍪
So, I woke up early, got fresh, and went straight to the kitchen to prepare my special tea for the morning. 🌸
I think everyone loves tea to some extent. Whether it’s to refresh your mind after waking up in the morning or to enjoy during a friendly chat — tea is always perfect. Whenever I feel sad or low, a cup of tea always lifts my mood. Today, I’m going to share my most favorite Masala Tea recipe, which I truly love.
This tea is very popular in India. The best thing is that it requires only a few ingredients but tastes absolutely heavenly. First, take a pot and add some sugar. Once you turn on the stove, let the sugar slowly caramelize — don’t rush this step! Keep the flame low so it doesn’t burn, otherwise the tea will taste bitter. When it starts to caramelize, add some tea leaves and let them simmer gently to form the tea liquor.
Next, add some spices —
🪵 A small piece of cinnamon
🌿 A few green cardamoms
🌸 A few cloves
🍃 Two bay leaves
Then pour in some water and boil everything together for a few minutes. Once it’s nicely brewed, add milk according to your taste. Let it boil twice, and your famous Indian-style Masala Tea is ready to enjoy! You can also use condensed milk or milk powder if you prefer, but I personally like using pure cow’s milk.
Now, to make it even more special, let’s talk about “Pora Ruti” (toasted bread) — it goes perfectly with tea! Take a slice of bread and brush it well with condensed milk or ghee. Sprinkle a little sugar on top if you want, and toast it directly over the flame until it’s nicely browned. And there you go — your crispy, sweet Pora Ruti is ready!
This tea recipe is truly delightful for every tea lover. I’m sure if you love tea, you must have tried this kind at least once. But if not — go ahead, follow this recipe, and make your own cup of happiness today! Don’t forget to share how you liked it in the comments. 💬❤️
