Sin duda una de las cosas que más disfruto en la vida es comer y algo que siempre he querido hacer es poder visitar diferentes restaurantes y puestos de comida para probar sus especialidades y todo aquello que no he probado hasta ahora, sin embargo, esa es una actividad que requiere de dinero para poder llevar a cabo y muchas veces puede ser costoso, pero, si tengo suerte puedo degustar una rica comida totalmente gratis ganando un concurso en instagram, lo cual he hecho en muchísimas ocasiones y una de esas últimas veces fue nada más y nada menos que en Papa Johns, lugar del cual les vengo a hablar hoy y de mi experiencia probando por primera vez su comida.
Without a doubt one of the things I enjoy most in life is eating and something that I have always wanted to do is be able to visit different restaurants and food stalls to try their specialties and everything that I have not tried until now, however, that is one An activity that requires money to carry out and can often be expensive, but if I'm lucky I can taste a delicious meal totally free by winning a contest on Instagram, which I have done on many occasions and one of those last times was nothing. more and no less than in Papa Johns, a place I come to talk to you about today and about my experience trying their food for the first time.
Quienes me conocen y me han leído anteriormente saben que soy fanática de los concursos en instagram y que de hecho he ganado muchísimos de ellos, gracias a ello he tenido la oportunidad de probar la comida de diferentes lugares de mi ciudad y sin duda uno de los mejores premios fue haber ganado un concurso de Papa Johns. Fue para San Valentín que hicieron este concurso, donde el premio fue una gift card de 50$ en consumo en su local, la cual tuve la suerte de ganar.
Fui a disfrutar de mi premio el mismo día de San Valentín, por suerte esta sede de Papa Johns está ubicada muy cerca de casa y en menos de 5 minutos ya estábamos allí, al llegar de inmediato me atendieron y luego de hacerles saber que era la ganadora del premio me hicieron entrega de un menú para que eligiera lo que iba a consumir y luego les hiciera saber mi pedido. Decidimos tomar asiento mientras veíamos el menú y decidíamos que pedir, por suerte el lugar no estaba lleno, en ese momento solo había una familia almorzando, por lo que no tuvimos problema en encontrar una mesa, la cual por cierto elegimos en el que nos pareció el mejor lugar.
Those who know me and have read me before know that I am a fan of contests on Instagram and that in fact I have won many of them, thanks to this I have had the opportunity to try food from different places in my city and without a doubt one of the best prizes were winning a Papa Johns contest. It was for Valentine's Day that they did this contest, where the prize was a $50 gift card for consumption at their store, which I was lucky enough to win.
I went to enjoy my prize on Valentine's Day, luckily this Papa Johns headquarters is located very close to home and in less than 5 minutes we were there, upon arriving they immediately attended to me and after making them Knowing that I was the winner of the prize, they gave me a menu so I could choose what I was going to consume and then let them know my order. We decided to take a seat while we looked at the menu and decided what to order, luckily the place was not full, at that time there was only one family having lunch, so we had no problem finding a table, which by the way we chose the one we thought was the best place.
Viendo el menú notamos lo costosas que eran las pizzas allí, pero como nuestro consumo era gratis decidimos no darle importancia a los precios ya que no íbamos a pagar, no obstante, debíamos tener el precio presente para saber lo que podíamos consumir sin pasarnos del monto. En el menú encontramos una gran variedad de pizzas y todas ellas contaban con 4 presentaciones (tamaños diferentes) y por supuesto mientras más grandes más costosas eran aunque su precio también dependía de los ingredientes que contenía. Al final nos decidimos por una pizza de pepperoni de tamaño grande (14”), la cual tuvo un costo de 25$ lo cual me pareció bastante costoso pero una vez mas no le di importancia al precio, también pedimos para acompañar nuestra pizza un refresco de 1.5 Litros que tuvo un costo de 2$, en ese momento habríamos consumido ya 27$ de la gift card.
Tuvimos que esperar un rato mientras preparaban muestra pizza y aunque se tardaron un poco aprovechamos el momento para poder disfrutar de una buena conversación y tomar algunas fotos, llegó un momento en el que el lugar quedó vacío y allí fue cuando tomé algunas fotos de las instalaciones y debo decir que cada espacio me pareció muy bonito y aunque el local es un tanto pequeño a su vez es muy acogedor y no llega a sentirse apretado, para ser un lugar pequeño habían bastantes mesas pero mi área favorita fue junto a la pared donde tenían otro tipo de asientos que me gustó mucho y fue el que elegimos.
Looking at the menu we noticed how expensive the pizzas were there, but since our consumption was free we decided not to give importance to the prices since we were not going to pay, however, we had to keep the price in mind to know what we could consume without going over the amount . On the menu we found a wide variety of pizzas and all of them had 4 presentations (different sizes) and of course the larger they were, the more expensive they were, although their price also depended on the ingredients it contained. In the end we decided on a large pepperoni pizza (14”), which cost $25 which seemed quite expensive to me but once again I didn't give importance to the price, we also ordered a soft drink to accompany our pizza. of 1.5 Liters that cost $2, at that moment we would have already consumed $27 of the gift card.
We had to wait a while while they prepared a sample pizza and although it took a while we took advantage of the moment to enjoy a good conversation and take some photos, there came a time when the place was empty and that was when I took some photos of the facilities and I must say that I found each space very nice and although the place is a bit small, it is also very cozy and does not feel cramped, for a small place there were quite a few tables but my favorite area was next to the wall where they had another type of seats that I really liked and that was the one we chose.
Este local también cuenta con un pequeño parque infantil muy lindo y colorido dentro de sus instalaciones, por otro lado, ese día había una decoración mixta en el local, de un lado una linda estación de fotos con una decoración de globos por el día de San Valentín donde por cierto nos tomamos algunas fotos y de otro lado algunos globos de colores por los carnavales, el lugar se veía bastante lindo y aunque las decoraciones eran completamente diferentes lucían bien entre sí.
This place also has a very cute and colorful small playground within its facilities. On the other hand, that day there was a mixed decoration in the place, on the one hand a nice photo station with a balloon decoration for Saint's Day. Valentine where by the way we took some photos and on the other hand some colored balloons for the carnivals, the place looked quite nice and although the decorations were completely different they looked good together.
Cerca de nuestra mesa teníamos el área de la cocina y desde allí podíamos ver como preparaban las pizzas, en esa parte no tomé fotos pero estuve observando y pude ver parte del proceso de la preparación, lo cual me gustó mucho porque además de que todo lucia muy limpio y ordenado no vi nada que me desagradara o que me hiciera dudar de mi comida, pues, me pareció que estaban cumpliendo en su totalidad con las normas sanitarias para la manipulación de alimentos.
Luego de esperar por alrededor de 20 minutos finalmente llegó la pizza a nuestra mesa y mi primera impresión fue ¡que deliciosa se ve! La pizza era bastante grande y constaba de 8 buenas porciones. La piza se basaba en 2 ingredientes principales: queso mozzarella y pepperoni y debo decir que no le negaron ninguno de estos, ya que tenía ambos ingredientes en cantidades muy generosas.
Near our table we had the kitchen area and from there we could see how they prepared the pizzas, in that part I did not take photos but I was observing and I could see part of the preparation process, which I really liked because in addition to the fact that everything looked very clean and tidy, I didn't see anything that I disliked or that made me doubt my food, well, it seemed to me that they were fully complying with the sanitary regulations for food handling.
After waiting for about 20 minutes the pizza finally arrived at our table and my first impression was how delicious it looked! The pizza was quite large and consisted of 8 good slices. The pizza was based on 2 main ingredients: mozzarella cheese and pepperoni and I must say that he was not denied any of these, since he had both ingredients in very generous quantities.
Como acompañante la pizza traía una salsa de ajo especial de la casa que debo decir me encantó, aunque debo mencionar que pensé que en ella resaltaría más el sabor a ajo, pero en realidad este era bastante suave, sin embargo, estaba deliciosa y combinaba a la perfección con la pizza.
As a side dish, the pizza came with a special house garlic sauce that I must say I loved, although I must mention that I thought the garlic flavor would stand out more, but in reality this was quite mild, however, it was delicious and combined with perfection with pizza.
La pizza por supuesto estaba extremadamente deliciosa, la masa era muy suave y esponjosa, además contenía semolina, algo que nunca había probado en todas las pizzas que he comido fuera de casa, lo cual me pareció algo único, por otro lado la salsa estaba en su punto y como ya les mencioné tenía una buena cantidad de los ingredientes principales (queso mozzarella y pepperoni) y era tanto que cada porción se sentía bastante pesada y no precisamente por la masa porque esta era fina, realmente tenía mucho relleno y se podía disfrutar mucho en cada bocado, dejándonos completamente satisfechos.
The pizza of course was extremely delicious, the dough was very soft and spongy, it also contained semolina, something I had never tried in all the pizzas I have eaten away from home, which I thought was something unique, on the other hand the sauce was in its point and as I already mentioned it had a good amount of the main ingredients (mozzarella cheese and pepperoni) and there was so much that each portion felt quite heavy and not precisely because of the dough because it was thin, it really had a lot of filling and you could enjoy it a lot in each bite, leaving us completely satisfied.
Como aun nos quedaba algo del consumo pedimos otra pizza para llevar, esta vez elegimos una llamada The Works de tamaño mediano (11”) tuvo un valor de 17$ y contenía pepperoni, salchicha italiana, jamón, pimientos, cebolla, champiñón y aceitunas negras que pese a ser más pequeña que la primera estuvo bien resuelta, lo que hizo que quedáramos muy satisfechos con poco. Para completar el consumo además de las pizzas también pedimos postre para llevar pero de eso les hablaré en otro post.
As we still had some left over, we ordered another pizza to take away, this time we chose one called The Works, a medium size (11”), which cost $17 and contained pepperoni, Italian sausage, ham, peppers, onion, mushroom and black olives that, despite being smaller than the first, were well resolved, which made us very satisfied with little. To complete the consumption, in addition to the pizzas, we also ordered dessert to go but I will talk about that in another post.
La verdad es que 25$ por una pizza me sigue pareciendo algo caro pero luego de probar estas debo decir que los valía totalmente porque es que aunque haya probado tantas pizzas en tantos lugares en toda mi vida ninguna ha sido tan buena y deliciosa como las de Papa Jonhs y si en algún momento tengo la oportunidad volvería sin duda porque sus pizzas realmente valen la pena.
La experiencia en Papa Johns fue bastante agradable, con un ambiente bastante cómodo y acogedor, la atención por parte del personal fue muy amable y la comida estaba increíblemente deliciosa, todo esto en conjunto hizo de esta una experiencia sin dudas maravillosa y me hace desear poder volver pronto.
The truth is that $25 for a pizza still seems a bit expensive to me but after trying these I must say that it was totally worth it because even though I have tried so many pizzas in so many places in my entire life, none have been as good and delicious as the ones from Papa Jonhs and if I ever have the opportunity I would definitely return because his pizzas are really worth it.
The experience at Papa Johns was quite pleasant, with a very comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, the attention from the staff was very friendly and the food was incredibly delicious, all of this together made this an undoubtedly wonderful and It makes me wish I could come back soon.
