Golden Yolk Fried Rice: Bright & Yummy

in Hive Food14 hours ago

Hello, wonderful foodies of this Hive Food Community! 🫰🏻😊🫰🏻

‎When my hubby cooked last Wednesday, he used up all the egg whites for his dish.. So what remains is a small bowl of pure, bright yellow egg yolks.

‎So I start thinking... what am I supposed to cook with just egg yolks...

‎Then I saw we had leftover rice from lunch, some garlic, and simple seasonings. Then a lightbulb went off in my head! 😅 Why not make egg fried rice?

Ingredients:

‎• 3 cups cooked rice
‎• 4 large egg yolks
‎• 1 footlong
‎• 1/2 cup pechay
‎• 4 cloves garlic
‎• 2 tablespoons cooking oil
‎• 1 tablespoon soy sauce
‎• 1/2 teaspoon salt
‎• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Let's cook!

‎First, I took my cooked rice and poured all the egg yolks right on top of it, then sprinkled salt. Then I mix everything really well until every single grain of rice turns into a beautiful sunny yellow color.

‎Next, I poured cooking oil and turned the heat to medium. Once the oil was hot, I threw in my sliced footlong sausages. I cooked them until they turned nice and brown and a little crispy on the edges. When they were done, I took them out of the pan and set them aside.

‎After that, in the same oil, I tossed in my garlic. I stirred it and cooked it until it turned light brown.

‎Then, I poured all my yellow yolk-coated rice straight into the pan with the garlic. I stirred it well, making sure every grain got mixed with the garlic and the oil. Then I added soy sauce... just enough to give it color and flavor, not too salty. I also sprinkled a little black pepper, to give it that tiny bit of spice. I kept stirring and mixing everything evenly for a few minutes, until the rice was hot and smelled absolutely amazing.

‎After that, I put the cooked footlong sausages back into the pan with chopped pechay. I mixed everything, and I only cooked it for about 30 seconds. Just enough time for the veggies to turn slightly soft, but still stay bright green.

‎And that was it! I transferred it to a bowl and served it warm.

‎It looked so colorful and appetizing. 😋 My hubby also loved it.

‎Until my next cooking...

Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 💗🌸
