Hi bloggers and food lovers! What are you cooking today? Today I’m going to share a recipe for a sweet snack made from basket cake (a sticky sweet made from glutinous rice and sugar) that I had left over from Chinese New Year. Since I still had some and was tired of eating it plain, I decided to turn it into a chewy, sweet fried treat. Okay, let’s get started
Ingredients:
- 1 basket cake
- 5 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp rice flour
- 1 tbsp margarine
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- a pinch of salt
- water as needed
- cooking oil
Instructions:

- Place the all-purpose flour in a bowl

- Add the rice flour

Add the vanilla extract and margarine
Add a pinch of salt

- Gradually add water until the batter reaches a thick consistency

- Cut the basket cake into small pieces

- Dip the pieces of basket cake into the batter

- Heat the cooking oil

Fry the basket cake until golden brown
Remove and drain

- Sprinkle with sesame seeds as a topping

- The fried basket cake is ready to serve
