Dad from Hive Food! I'm happy to be here again to share with you the wonderful dinner we had celebrating my mom's birthday. Not to miss the opportunity, I prepared her favorite dish: hamburgers. Although the usual thing would be to offer a birthday cake, she didn't want it. In fact, there were no plans to do anything special. However, at the last minute, my sister and I decided to get our act together, as we say here in Venezuela, and bought the ingredients needed for the hamburgers.
It's worth mentioning that these burgers are homemade. It's been a while since I've made burgers at home, but I hope they turn out well this time, as I want to highlight the flavor, especially the meat. Since it's a special meal for my mom, I decided to make the burgers at my sister's house. However, one thing I didn't like was that the house didn't have much lighting, so I hope the photos aren't confusing. The preparation is for 10 burgers, so I hope the meat is enough. Before I forget, the buns were made by a woman we know, so they're freshly baked. We were honestly impressed with these burger buns; they're very pretty, golden in color, and decorated with sesame seeds. It's not common to find buns like this around here, as they're not readily available, but this woman put a lot of effort into making them. So, let's start preparing them!

Paso nro 1
Paso nro 1
To begin preparing the burgers, the first thing I did was season the meat. I added salt, pepper, garlic, oregano, and a tablespoon of wheat flour to taste so it would hold its shape and not break during cooking. I let it rest for a moment while I heated the budare. The budare is an excellent option if you don't have a griddle. Once the budare was piping hot, I added a little oil. Meanwhile, I began shaping the hamburger patty with the help of a bag, which allowed me to flatten it properly. I checked if the patty was enough for ten burgers, and it was, so I'm on the right track.

Next, I started preparing the vegetables, namely the lettuce and tomato. I sliced the tomato and added a little salt. To prepare the lettuce, I removed each leaf and placed them in a bowl with water and a little vinegar to remove any impurities. Afterward, I drained the water and placed the lettuce in a colander to dry it better.

After a while, the meat was ready, so now I'm going to start preparing the burgers. To do so, I decided to add the sauce. I opted to mix the mayonnaise in a single container. I realized I didn't buy mustard, but hey, the world won't end because of that!

I filled the burgers in the following order: first the sauce, then the meat, then the tomato, the lettuce, and finally, a little more sauce. I continued this way with the rest of the burgers until they were finished. Some of them couldn't handle all the filling. 🤭

Finally, I told my mom, "Go eat a burger I made for you," and I served them their burgers along with a glass, not wine, but soda. There she is, happy, and so are we. I hope you enjoyed this homemade burger recipe. Thanks for joining me this time!
