Well HELLO AGAIN My Friends
Error No Signal ..
Sorry for the long absence here on Hive. Life got busy. And not just the everyday kind of busy.. this was full throttle crazy. Work hit its peak season and did what it always does.. took over for a bit. Add in the Fourth of July holiday chaos and then a long vacation to Mexico and you’ve got the perfect storm of distraction.
Let me just say though.. minus the work junk, the rest of it was much needed. We both needed a break from everything. Mind and body. That kind of tired where you do not even know how tired you are until you stop moving. The vacation helped with that. We went to the 'Excellence Coral Playa Majeures'.. just north of Cancun. Beautiful spot. Peaceful. Clean. Relaxing. The resort staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, the food was delicious, and yep.. the drinks were amazing. Let’s just say we got our money’s worth on those fruity frozen concoctions.
One quiet morning by the pool I pulled out my cousin’s new book.. It’s about her daughter’s ten year battle with breast cancer.
Heavy stuff, I know.. Maybe not your typical beach read, but I wanted to read it somewhere quiet. Somewhere peaceful. Tiff was a beautiful soul and we miss her terribly. Reading about her strength while being surrounded by still water and soft wind felt like a fitting tribute. Maybe she was with us there for a while. I like to think so.

Outside of all that deep thought and beach lounging .. My wife and I really reconnected in a way we have not in a while. With all the distractions turned off and life paused, we just enjoyed each other’s company. That is something rare these days and worth every second.
And Now To The Pup Update
Huxley is doing great! Hard to believe he is going to be one year old next week. I mean come on.. where did that time go? He had a couple of firsts while we were away. First thunderstorms and first Fourth of July. According to my niece who was house sitting, he barked at the thunder a little but handled it like a champ. That is a relief considering Molly used to panic during storms. We slept in the walk in closet more than once just to help her get through it.
The fireworks though.. not his favorite. Huxley and I stayed inside that night, while the rest of our crew stayed outside to watch the city fireworks display that goes off about 2/10ths of a mile from our home.. ((( L O U D ))) He was already worn out from swimming and playing outside all day, so after a few barks and a bit of pacing he settled into my arms and fell asleep on my chest.
Those kind of moments sticks with you. :)
I could keep going. I have stories to share about the plants and the yard and probably a dozen other things but I will save that for another day.
Just wanted to pop in and let you know I am still here.. still reading.. still grateful for this space and the people in it.
Hope You Are All Doing Well
I apologize for not keeping up while I was away. I will be poking around to see what I missed.. hopefully nothing too heavy and mostly good things.
Talk soon friends.
Thank you for swinging by my blog and checking out the post. Have a great day!
