A World Of Uncertainties. #memoirmonday 32

Growing up in the world from my childhood days to this my adulthood has revealed just one reality to me - the world is full of uncertainties. Putting one’s trust in the world would be the greatest mistake to embark upon. There are a lot of empty, vague, illusionary perceptions which people are holding one, which certainly have nothing tangible to rely on.

My perception of the world has really changed over the years. It makes me realize that putting one's trust in God can only be is actually the only substance in life.

When we were younger, we had a relatively peaceful life. We could play around without any fear of incessant attack. We shared freely in the community and interacted freely. Festive seasons used to be a great time of sharing together. The name Boxing Day given to 26th December was chosen because we shared boxes of gifts and true love in those days. The story is not that way anymore.

We are living in a world in which evil seems to be on the rise on a daily basis. The rate at which countries are rising up against each other in war makes me wonder whether the treaty of the United Nations still has an impact on the world’s peaceful co-existence.

On the other hand, my perception of the world has also changed due to the soaring dominance of technology. The picture even gets more interesting as we keep hearing about the advent and progressive advancement of AI. The world these days is not the world of some years back. And it is evidently sure that in a few years to come we will be living in a digitalized world.

Reflecting on this, I have come to realize that the speed of life might be equivalent to that of light in a few years to come. Getting things done won't take much time and stress like before. Accuracy and fineness won't be any issues in service delivery. The world would become a little village controlled absolutely by technology.

This will be very good in areas where the application is good. Many of our useful services would be easy to get. There might be drastic reduction in the use of human power for service delivery. A lot of things would have become very easy. And surely, a lot of things will soon become very easy.

Going a little away from this and looking in the opposite direction, the sight of the world might not be altogether very palatable. I think this way because I have come to realize that the advancement in technology also aids the spread and rapid propagation of evil. Imagine that the little internet knowledge some elements have gotten is equipping them to create many arsenals of crime. Hence, it is wise to know that the more technology and AI advance the more crime will dominate.

The world is presently suffering from terror and nuclear threats because of the little knowledge man has gotten about how to explore technology and other resources. What will be our fate as this knowledge keeps increasing everyday? The terrorists we are having today are those who have acquired knowledge on how to manipulate some of the resources to execute evil. So, this could mean that the more they explore and have breakthroughs in the areas of technology and AI the bigger the threat that will be hanging upon the world.

I want to appreciate @ericvancewalton for making us reflect in this direction. It helps us realize what the world could possibly tilt towards. The link to the current #memoirmonday initiative is here
