Hi people, I hope y'all very well today✨.
Once again, I'm here with family and friends, two of my favorite things in life. This time, we got together to make hallacas and get everything ready for Christmas dinner.
Es divertido porque esta vez nos acompañó Sandra, que es la suegra de mi hermana Alondra y ustedes dirán, por qué es eso importante? Bueno, Sandra y Nico (el novio de mi hermana) son argentinos y les encanta esta parte de nuestra cultura, de reunirnos para todo este show, porque los venezolanos somos algo intensos con la navidad.
Sandra es algo "mala boca" no le gustan muchas comidas, así que el hecho de que se nos uniera y probara nuestras hallacas y las aprobara fue todo un espectáculo para nosotros jaja.
It was fun because this time we were joined by Sandra, my sister Alondra's mother-in-law. You might ask, why is that important? Well, Sandra and Nico (my sister's boyfriend) are Argentinean, and they love this part of our culture, getting together for this whole show, because we Venezuelans are pretty intense about Christmas.
Sandra is a bit of a picky eater; she doesn't like a lot of foods, so the fact that she joined us and tried our hallacas and approved of them was quite a spectacle for us, haha.
Debo admitir que una vez más llegué un poco tarde a esta reunión porque era mi día libre y aquí debo aprovechar de hacer todo lo que tenga pendiente porque normalmente en mi trabajo salgo algo tarde y no me da tiempo, así que me dediqué a comprar los regalos de mi hijo y de los demás.
Pero pese a todo llegué para ayudar con el armado de nuestras hallacas y la parte más importante, por supuesto, probarlas.
Me encantan estas reuniones donde hablamos, contamos las mismas anécdotas de siempre y nos preparamos para tener un lindo momento familiar, como emigrantes esta parte es muy importante porque solo nosotros sabemos lo que es estar lejos de nuestro país y del resto de la familia.
I must admit that once again I arrived a little late to this gathering because it was my day off and I had to take advantage of it to do everything I had pending because normally at my job I leave a little late and don't have time, so I dedicated myself to buying gifts for my son and the others.
But despite everything, I arrived to help with the preparation of our hallacas and the most important part, of course, tasting them.
I love these gatherings where we talk, tell the same old stories, and get ready to have a nice family moment. As immigrants, this part is very important because only we know what it's like to be far from our country and the rest of our family.
