A night in Provenza with some friends.

Although I was only in Medellin for a couple of days, I feel like I had the opportunity to visit many places, and one of my favorites was the Provenza area, a small part of the city that is characterized by many restaurants, bars and clubs, in other words: almost all the nightlife is concentrated there.

I did this walk with a friend who has been living in Medellin for more than 6 years, and who also decided to invite two other friends so that we could all share together and show me the most relevant places in the area.

One of the parts that caught my attention the most was how eclectic everything was, although many times we could associate the nightlife of a place like Medellin only with reggaeton and its aesthetics, there were really many places with different themes and styles of music that coexisted organically: rock, hip hop, and even more traditional and folk music.

It was refreshing to walk around a place like that, there were many people from all over the world and the energy was almost contagious. We ate, drank, talked, walked, and even with the rain and fairly cold weather we were able to get a lot out of the experience.

Aunque solamente estuve un par de días en Medellín siento que tuve la oportunidad de visitar muchísimos lugares, y, uno de mis favoritos, fue la zona de Provenza, un pequeño sector de la ciudad que se encuentra caracterizado por muchos restaurantes, bares y discotecas, en otras palabras: allí se encuentra concentrada casi toda la vida nocturna.

Este paseo lo hice con una amiga que lleva más de 6 años viviendo en medellín, y que aparte decidió invitar a otros dos amigos más para que todos compartiremos juntos y me mostraran así los lugares más relevantes de la zona.

Una de las partes que más me llamó la atención era lo ecléctico que resultaba todo, aunque muchas veces podríamos asociar la vida nocturna de un lugar como medellín únicamente con el reggaeton y su estética, realmente habían muchos lugares con temáticas diferentes y estilos de música que convivían orgánicamente: rock, hip hop, e incluso música más tradicional y folklórica.

Fue refrescante pasear por un lugar así, había mucha gente de todas partes del mundo y la energía era casi contagiosa. Comimos, bebimos y hablamos caminamos, e incluso con una lluvia y un clima bastante frío pudimos sacarle mucho provecho a la experiencia.
