This is insightful and thought-provoking, @carlynn. My beef with my neighbour's scenario was the friend saying, "I understand..." I'm sure you will agree it takes experience for another person to truly understand what a person goes through.

Indeed, the Holy Spirit is the best teacher and giving advice can come from different places, not necessarily advice. Experience makes such advice concrete. 🙂
