My little one was taught the meaning of family recently, and she can't stop reciting it to me every day, as that is how they learn and hold on to what they learn for long. She said, and I quote, " family is a group of people related by blood." That's correct, but there is so much more that makes us a family, the reason why every family is unique and has cherished memories, even when they extend to make their own nuclear family.

Family is the first institution ordained by God. Man was not created to live life alone; we all need our family to get through the ups and downs of life, and through this journey, we involve ourselves in activities or traditions that sometimes gets passed even to the next generation.
I cannot talk about the best times of my life and not have my childhood days included, because this was the time I got to experience living with my first family before having mine, it was the first to many things care, love, discipline and so much more memories.
I look at myself today and realize that I've somehow subconsciously extended most of the things I did with my parent and siblings to my husband and children. One of which is eating together, thankfully, my husband also grew up in a home where eating together as a family was considered more fun and satisfying, even though he ended up fighting with his brothers sometimes, you see, when he tells me about these memories with his brothers, you can see the light in his eyes flicker with joy and love, through a simple thing as dining together, wonderful memories were made.
Although the hustle and bustle of this present times, often make us have scatterd meal schedule, as the children eat early before going to school, my husband sometimes skips breakfast so as to get to work early, or whenever he work burden on his mind, and as for me, i'm not even a breakfast person, as my first meal is usually after chores and noon already, still, we manage to make dinner time special, just like my dad used to do when we were little, asking how our day went during dinner, my husband also does same with me and our children and these way we somehow manage to have that family time we almost missed out on during the busy day.
Traditions like this are worth keeping for every family, especially the busy parent. Finding time to eat with your children creates lasting bonds and memories, and I hope my children also carry on this tradition when they have their own family.
