With 105F forecast for yesterday I was out in the garden first thing getting harvests done. But before that I watched the finals of the women's match play and Fallon got whooped by Beau. It's wild watching Ashton throw as she really throws them with serious force.
The summer squash are producing nicely and I am tossing the aborts to the birds over the fence.
A few wonky cucumbers with the couple normal.
Then it was time for the rutabaga. The plants were all bug covered so I just pulled then topped them.
Then I went through the 2 beet rows and got a nice haul. Most of them are chioggia.
The tops all went to the sheep who lined up and devoured it quickly.
I trimmed the rutabaga and washed them as well as the beets and got them to the cooler.
We all loaded up and headed to the valley to Flight 509 mid morning.
We got there not long after it opened and soon had a 3 hour pass. We hit the laser tag a couple of times, the boys had a blast on the arcade games, the ninja warrior style setup, and the ball pit area.
I only played a couple of the games and I scored on this one getting the 500 jackpot.
The boys both found various games they liked and managed to do pretty well at some of them.
We got food at the cafe and drinks and while we ate I pulled up the PDC Final on my phone so J and I could keep track and see Humphries win.
We got into the laser tag for the last 15 minutes of our pass and it was just the 4 of us. R and I won and I got the most points over all.
So then before we left we went to the redemption counter where we split our tickets between the boys who ended up with a bit over 800 and 500 each.
We got home and I went around the farm and the thermometer in the greenhouse was showing 106F.
Stopped at the board for a bit and am dialing in my groupings better.
The boys want to play Duck Hunt but the gun doesn't work on LED tvs, it only works on CRTs. By luck I had our old tv still on the deck of the studio so I hauled it up to the house and will try to get it going today in hopes of it working and being able to play the game.
The carrot row had gotten a bit too full and needed to be thinned a lot. I went through and after topping got 1.5 pounds of thinner carrots.
@stryeyz grilled our dinner on the Blackstone.
Out to soak at normal time but then I had to go kick turkeys off the sheep fence to make them go in the coop before the door shut.
The cool down begins and we have some clouds moving over this morning. I have my chiro appointment, harvests, tying and trimming, branch piling, rock moving, mowing, and more to do today.
