in Homesteading2 days ago

5am yesterday morning I noticed the sky was super colorful which was a portent of rain.

Checked the doppler and saw I was correct. It did take its sweet time finally dropping any rain and never amounted to much all day.

A few sprinkles around 8:30.

And some more passed by around 9.

10 am I had the first basket full of green beans from the row in the garden. Over 8 pounds.

Before 11 I had another basket full at around 7.5 pounds.

The boys came out and helped finish off the row and in the end we got over 21 pounds from the single row I have planted.

More garlic got processed and the Montana Giant are the largest of all the varieties I grew. 113 head and they required a much larger bag to hold all of them.

Took the boys to town to meet @stryeyz at Atilano's for food then they went to VBS and I home.

Then I got the Nootka Rose done which are about the smallest of all the varieties and required the smallest bag I have...

Out in the garden finally able to pick peas in the cooler evening I noticed the leek flowers were covered in pollinators. The smaller bumblebees.

The hornets...

And the mondo fly. The flowers are huge and have room for many of them on one, though they were spread out pretty well along the row of leeks.

Thunderstorms rolled through overnight that I woke up to hear. Today I hope to get my shirts and hats finally, should know in a bit. It will be a drive to the valley and I will take my wing with to try and get a h&f in at Saltese. More garlic to process and keep digging the remaining varieties in the ground, then the boys to town again this evening for VBS.
