It was a bit after 9am yesterday when I got out to the greenhouse to work on the tomatoes. They had gotten rather big and bushy and probably a bit too long for no supports.
First thing was to trim them all down to single stalks and remove all the side branches. That gave me a good sized pile that I tossed over the side of the hill.
Then the stakes and base wire were installed followed by the twine between the wire and purlin. I used twist ties to tie each tomato to the twine and they are all looking good now.
It was just getting hot inside when I was finished.
Another handful of peas were ready and this time I got them picked while it was still a bit cooler.
Before noon I got the brush all piled from the cutting I have been doing. The stuff across the creek and on this side, but I have plenty more that will end up getting added over the summer until we can burn again in Fall.
I was at my computer and I noticed the Fly Catcher was sitting up in the nest looking at a passing butterfly.
REALLY happy with the camera on the new phone! The zoom is super nice.
Hiked up the hill to check fence, launch, and look for feathers.
Found the moose pile just south of the property but it looks to be a couple days old.
The raspberries are kicking ass this year and the plants are covered in ripe berries right now.
I got the boys on it but they managed only about half of them. Still a bunch more for them to pick today.
I noticed the Garlic are starting to be ready and it was time to dig the first 2 rows.
I used the forks to loosen the soil so then I could pull them each up by the bulb and shake off the soil.
I got 68 Siberian bulbs out of the 69 I planted and I got 42 Silver White out of the 40 I planted.
Each type got tied and hung in the garden shed to cure.
I have at least 3 more varieties to dig today.
I made dinner then after eating got the trailer hooked up for the grain run I have done this morning.
Soaked for a bit before bed.
I have been to town for the grain already and have it emptied. In a while I will head to North 40 in hopes my Pew is ready, will dig more #garlic, pick more asian cabbage, keep my eyes open for the marmot so I can liquidate it, and gather stuff for tomorrow's ventures.
