First Drips of Maple Sap - Tapping for Maple Syrup in New England - February 20, 2024

Yesterday I tapped a few Maple trees. Here's a video of the first drips of sap hitting the collection bucket. Later we'll boil it down to create some homemade maple syrup!

I apologize for the buzzing in the video, my phone camera is damaged and tends to do that.

First time trying it! Been slowing being more self sufficient at home with the flock, the bees and now some maple harvesting. Gonna be a small batch so I might try to make some different types of infused maple syrups. We shall see how the boiling process goes…
