Homesteading Journey - What is After Watercress?

in Homesteading2 days ago

My journey with homesteading was an enjoyable and challenging experience and I learn something new every day From the beginning I knew that the subject required patience and experimentation but honestly I did not imagine how enjoyable and satisfying farming could be When I planted watercress I was excited to see the result and when it started to grow and I saw the fresh green leaves I felt very happy as if all the effort was worth it.

Watercress was a great choice to start with because it does not require much effort and grows quickly and this gave me more incentive to continue and try new crops Now I am thinking about the next stage and my choice fell on lettuce or cucumber The idea of cucumber is good because it is a delicious and useful crop and lettuce is also excellent especially since it is a vegetable that has many uses in food and is relatively easy to care for But before I make the final decision I am researching the best way to grow each one of them and what requirements I need to ensure a successful crop.

What I learned on this journey is that farming is not just about planting seeds and waiting There are many details to the matter from the right soil to irrigation and even fertilization and dealing with any problems that appear along the way But the best thing about all of this is that you are connected to nature and you see your efforts transform into something real in front of you.

Right now my focus is on choosing the right lettuce and cucumber and I will definitely share my experience when I start new farming If you have experience in growing any of them I will be happy to hear your advice.
