Hello everyone

Today was a day off from the café, which meant I finally had a bit of time for myself. After finishing a few personal errands in the morning, I decided to take a little drive to Mae Sot to visit my friend's restaurant.

But I didn’t tell her I was coming—I wanted it to be a surprise! 😄 The drive took about 50 minutes, with quiet roads and beautiful views along the way. Soon, I arrived in front of her restaurant, parked the car, and stepped inside, excited to see the look on her face when she saw me.

My friend was busy arranging things and turning to greet other customers when she suddenly caught sight of me. Her face immediately lit up with surprise and joy. 😄 It had been several months since I last visited her restaurant, and she was genuinely happy to see me.

She gave me the warmest welcome, just like she always does. There’s something so heartwarming about reconnecting with old friends—especially when it’s a spontaneous visit like this. She’s always delighted whenever childhood friends stop by to say hello, and today, I was that lucky friend. 💛

Right now, my friend is in the middle of renovating a souvenir corner in her restaurant. She’s added some new shelves and display cabinets and has been ordering more products to fill the space. It’s slowly coming together and already looks quite charming! 🛍️✨

Of course, I couldn’t resist snapping a quick selfie—some things never change! 😄 I always love capturing little moments like this, especially when visiting places that feel familiar yet always have something new.

And of course, there’s one dish I can never skip when I eat here—the pork chop. 🐷🔥 It’s a generous cut, perfectly cooked, with a juicy tenderness that almost melts in your mouth.

The portion is big, the flavor is rich, and it always leaves me feeling satisfied. It’s become one of my must-haves every time I visit—comfort food at its finest!

After finishing the delicious pork chop, my friend insisted I try one of her new dessert items—Taro Bua Loy. 🍠🍡 It’s a sweet Thai dessert made with soft glutinous rice balls and creamy coconut milk, and this version featured tender chunks of taro that melted beautifully in every bite.

I was already full, but how could I say no? 😄 It turned out to be the perfect ending to the meal—warm, comforting, and just sweet enough* to make me smile.*

She served the Taro Bua Loy with a scoop of mango ice cream, and the combination was absolutely delightful. The warm dessert and the cold, fruity ice cream balanced each other perfectly—a match made in dessert heaven. 🍨💛

After finishing our sweet treats, we sat and chatted for a while, sharing laughs and catching up on life. It was such a lovely, heartwarming visit—but eventually, it was time for me to head back to my sister’s house, with a full belly and a happy heart.

On the drive back, I couldn’t help but smile, thinking about how such a simple day turned out to be so meaningful. Good food, heartfelt conversation, and the joy of reconnecting with an old friend—it reminded me how the little things often bring the most happiness. 🚗☀️

Even though it was just a short visit, it filled me with energy and warmth. I’m so glad I made the spontaneous decision to stop by her restaurant today. Sometimes, unplanned moments turn out to be the most memorable.

Back at my sister’s house, I felt both tired and content. Life in the countryside may be quiet, but it’s these peaceful, flavorful days that I’ll always treasure. 💛
