Hello everyone
Today, I got a rare day off! My sister had to go to the Mae Sot market to buy household and food supplies for delivery to Myanmar, so she told me to take the day to rest. With this unexpected free time, I decided to treat myself to a visit to a hair salon in town, which wasn’t too far from my sister’s house.
By the time I was done with my hair appointment, it was already noon. Feeling hungry, I took the opportunity to stop by a cozy café near my sister’s place for lunch. It was the perfect way to enjoy my little break from the usual routine! ☕✨
Nowadays, cafés are everywhere, but in this small village, this one stands as the only café around. It’s a charming little spot that serves both drinks and food, offering a cozy retreat for locals and visitors alike. ☕🏡✨
The café is a quaint two-story building, blending wood and concrete in a way that gives it a rustic yet modern charm. Every piece of furniture is made of wood, adding to its warm and inviting atmosphere. Scattered throughout are lush green potted plants, bringing a refreshing touch of nature to every corner—making the space feel both cozy and serene. 🌿☕✨
I chose to sit on the second floor of the café, where I could take in the view from different angles. With summer in full swing, the weather was quite hot, but the elevated spot offered a nice vantage point to enjoy the atmosphere. ☀️🌿✨
Being a small café in a quiet village where most locals are farmers, it wasn’t surprising that there weren’t many customers around. The peaceful atmosphere, however, added to its charm—making it the perfect spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy a slow-paced afternoon. 🌾☕✨
I chose a seat with a view overlooking the mountains and the Moei River, which serves as the natural border between Thailand and Myanmar. It was a peaceful spot to sit and take in the scenery while waiting for my order to arrive.
After a short while, my drink and toast were served. Of course, I tasted them carefully—after all, this café could be considered a competitor to my sister’s café. The green tea, however, was disappointing; it lacked the rich aroma of real matcha and tasted more like sugary water. As for the toast, the mayonnaise topping was overwhelmingly sweet, which didn’t quite suit my taste.
Perhaps my standards are a bit high since I’ve tried so many cafés before. That said, given the affordable prices here compared to other places I’ve been, the quality might still be reasonable for some customers. ☕🍞🤔
The last dish to arrive was "Khao Soi," a signature dish found only in Northern Thailand. I’ve always loved Khao Soi, and luckily, this one did not disappoint! The flavors were rich and well-balanced, making it a truly satisfying meal. 🍜✨
Sitting there, enjoying my meal while gazing out at the peaceful river and mountain view, I felt a sense of calm and appreciation for this little café. Although not everything on the menu suited my taste, the charm of this place and the effort put into creating a cozy atmosphere were undeniable.
Before leaving, I took one last sip of my tea and let my eyes wander across the quiet village scenery. This café may not be perfect, but for the locals, it offers a simple and affordable escape from their daily routines. And in the end, that’s what truly matters—a place where people can gather, relax, and enjoy a moment of peace.
With that thought in mind, I paid my bill, thanked the staff, and made my way back home, feeling refreshed and ready for whatever tomorrow brings. ☕🌿✨
