I've been posting a lot lately about how I gave up protein powders to find natural food that is both healthy and protein-dense. Especially foods that are fairly easy to prepare and don't require much time!
I've gained a lot of weight lately mostly because of carbohydrates, so I've decided to cut sugar, bread, and many other foods to lose some weight, and build more muscles.
I'm not sure how common eating chicken liver and hearts are in other parts of the world, but I'm well aware that for some countries this could be seen as "disgusting" and that's fine, cultural differences include much more than food preferences, but I can assure you this is super healthy food.
Let me tell you the macros on this before I tell you how I made it:
Calories: 730 kcal
Protein: 105 grams!!!!!
Fat: 30 grams
Carbohydrates: 5 grams!!!!
What I love about this dish also that it takes about 20 minutes to be prepared, ideally you would cut onions and garlic and heat them on a pan then after their color starts changing you put the liver and leave it for 15-20 minutes till it turns brown. Add your choice of spices, I added salt, black pepper, cumin, pepper, and onion powder.
It's delicious, but most importantly it's so healthy, this plate is worth 4 protein shakes of the protein I used to take!
I'll keep posting more dishes that are tasty, quick, and healthy! But first tell me, have you ever eaten chicken liver and hearts or is that very uncommon in your country??
