A tradition that I do quite often, sharing. We must have heard the words 'sharing is caring' is a very good thing, not only for the person who is given, but, it is about kindness for the giver. It all depends on the mindset.
I don't want to show off, maybe it's very strange to show off because of sharing. I just share about what I did today. Sharing with my friends who are struggling to make a living by delivering packages, becoming an online motorcycle taxi courier.
It's a shame, mostly from the many jobs in Indonesia, couriers are the most widely done jobs at this time. When many manufacturers are not running well, the difficulty of finding work is the biggest disaster in today's economy. So becoming a courier is an option, besides being able to get money quickly without having to wait a week or a month.
However, do you know that their income is so cheap? Of course I know enough because I often hear the complaints of the couriers. Even they are paid much cheaper. Only enough to buy basic necessities, no savings at all. Even more than that, it's hard enough to pay the rent.
So sometimes I set aside time to make food for them. I can't give much tip, but when they can taste the food that they can take home or eat when they need to eat. Sometimes worse than that, they don't have time to buy food because they have to chase the target of delivering orders.
One day I found a courier who said that he was grateful for the food I gave him. The reason was simple, he was hungry but didn't have enough time to buy food because of time constraints. I heard it really sad. Is their job that hard to keep their family alive and eating well?
Indeed, life is not ideal for anyone, but, life must go on, right?
This Friday, I made a simple traditional snack. Making chocolate pudding, pastel and onde-onde. Three types of traditional snacks that I will later make for 12 couriers who will pick up some of my packages. I don't expect much, at least it can make them not forget to eat for lunch today.
