IT'S DESSERTS!!
Well the Plan was to cover about three places but in the end we only managed to go to two of them, One of which is the newest branch of Bakers Street situated right next to the Promenade Beach and the other is Le Petit Four located on La Bourdonnais Street.
Bakers Street
This place is popularly known for its affordable deserts and short eats that they serve here and they do have a wide variety of deserts in this place and almost all of them are quite delectable. A point to note that this particular branch gets quite crowded in the evenings and seating is very limited. So I highly suggest to visit them post peak hours or visit their OG branch at MG Road.
Strawberry Tarte
Strawberry Tarte
Behold the Strawberry Tarte, where buttery, crumbly pastry cradles a velvety custard (Oohlala That Custard Was 🤌🏻) that’s delicately sweet, yet gloriously indulgent. Crowned with ruby red Mahabaleshwar Strawberries that taste like summer’s brightest day, it’s brushed with a glistening glaze for that jewel-like finish. A bite? More like a rendezvous with perfection.
Lemon Tarte
Lemon Tarte
The Lemon Tarte is a zingy masterpiece, it's tartness balanced by the richness of a perfectly smooth curd. Encased in a golden, flaky shell that crumbles with precision, each mouthful is a vivid explosion of citrusy joy. A touch of meringue on top? A kiss of sweetness that ties it all together. (I Went Back The Next Morning To Have Another One This 😂)
Pain Au Chocolat
Pain Au Chocolat
Layer upon layer of buttery croissant dough, baked to golden perfection, hides ribbons of dark, molten chocolate inside. The Pain au Chocolat, though it carried a faint hint of being a day old, still delivered on flavor and indulgence. Its crisp, flaky exterior and rich, chocolatey heart made every bite worth savoring.
Le Petit Four
A quaint busy spot tucked away in the corner of MG Road in Pondicherry again with very limited seating serves up some really delicious deserts and sandwiches, oh how I wish we tried their sandwiches but since we were here for deserts, we decided to control ourselves and just stick to ordering deserts.
Hazelnut Caramel Tart
Hazelnut Caramel Tart
This Hazelnut Caramel Tart is a riot of texture and flavor—nutty to its core, with a golden caramel filling that’s sticky, rich, and utterly divine. On top, swirls of chocolate ganache are piped with precision, lending a touch of finesse to this otherwise unapologetically indulgent treat.
Mango Coconut Vanilla
Forget the name, this dessert speaks in layers. A flaky puff pastry base holds the tropical trio of mango, coconut, and vanilla in a surprising harmony. Creamy yet light, its buttery crunch plays against its fruity freshness, delivering a flavour profile far more vibrant than its modest looks suggest.
Caramel Mousse
Shaped like a glossy little dome, this Caramel Mousse is almost too cute to eat but that’s where the illusion ends. Beneath its polished exterior lies an airy, melt in your mouth mousse with a deep caramel soul. Crowned with a tiny mocha macaron, it’s a textural dream, sweet with a bitter edge.
