It's Friday today and I fast on Fridays and because of my obligations I'm thinking about what to make quickly but to fill me up. I remembered this simple recipe.

This meal requires only 2 ingredients: - 3 potatoes

  • 1 Onion
  • Salt or vegetables to taste
  • Sunflower oil for frying

I cut the onion into small cubes

I peeled the potatoes and grated them on a coarse grater

In order to prevent the potatoes from falling apart during frying, it is necessary to drain the excess water from the potatoes. Then I took cheesecloth and put the potato in it and squeezed it with my hand and squeezed the liquid out of the potato.

I poured oil into the pan. I heated the oil and put the onion to fry until golden.

When the onion turns golden, add the grated potatoes and combine with the onion. I then took the pan off the stove and formed the mass. Then I put the pan back to sear.

During frying, I divided the mixture into smaller parts so that they could be turned to the other side and fried more easily.

Towards the end of frying, pour salt over the meatballs and fry a little more so that the potatoes absorb the salt

I served the meal with one hot pepper.

I like the meatballs to be darker, so I fried them longer. You can fry for a shorter time.
This amount of meatballs is enough for two people
You can add whatever spices you want. This can also be served with sauce. Be creative and you can prepare a beautiful lunch.
Thank you for reading. Greetings until the next meeting. 🤗

Hi @bojang

Great recipe—easy and nutritious!

Remember to include the quantities of each ingredient, as well as the number of servings your recipe yields. This is essential so others can make your recipe.

Please edit your post and include this information.

I specified that three potatoes and one onion are used. I took a photo of the ingredients. This is a portion for two people

Please edit and include the quantities in the ingredient list; you know, it's a better way for readers to locate the quantities than to have to look for them within the text.

Nicee, you fast on Wednesdays and Fridays as well. That's wonderful. I know it's very important, but in my head it somehow feels like a difficult task, so I still haven't managed to make it part of my weekly routine. Even though I've been fasting all the fasts for a few years now and that's not a problem for me at all, for some reason I still haven't succeeded with Wednesdays and Fridays. I'm not even sure if I've really tried properly. So I would love for that to be my next step.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. My advice to you is that if you want to fast, start by fasting only on Fridays. If it is difficult for you to fast every Friday, then fast every other Friday. Well, when you master that, then fast on Wednesday with the same method. In this way, you will manage to master the discipline slowly and effortlessly.

Thank you so much for the advice. That's exactly what you said, I struggle with the discipline to introduce those fasting days during the week in between the non-fasting days. So that is 100% true. Plus, I often don't even know which day it is 😁 because my days are not, how should I say, structured in the same routine way, and then I sometimes genuinely don't know if it's Wednesday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. So that's probably part of the reason as well.
I've heard from many people who have, let's say, a similar issue as I do, that it's not a problem for them to fast for one specific period of time, sometimes even two months in a row, but the challenge is this one day like this, one day like that. So sometimes that can actually feel like a bigger task than a longer, continuous fasting period.
