THE BIRTHDAY SWEETS Celebrating my Daughter's 1st Birthday
As mentioned in my previous post, we celebrated my daughter's first birthday. In that post, I featured the venue which is a mountain resort just within my hometown.
I am not sure if everyone loves sweets like I do. Or maybe everyone likes to eat it, but because of health reasons and medical conditions opt to avoid eating it. So, maybe if you are a sweet tooth like me this is for you.
~The Cake~
I think the first kind of sweets that will come to our mind when we talk about birthdays is the cake! I am not sure with the other culture or country though, but in the Philippines, the cake is always part of birthday celebrations, if not all celebrations. We use it to surprise the birthday celebrant.
And since this is for our very special and only child, we want it to be very special too. Something that is cute and pretty just like our daughter - Olly.
The theme for Olly’s first birthday is “butterfly”, so we told the supplier to create a cake that is perfect for the theme. Of course, we want to help the baker in his/her job so we looked for some inspiration on Pinterest. Surprisingly, the cake’s design was almost the same as the inspo! That made us give a 5-star review for the supplier.
However, the cake was still untouched when the party was over. I do not know why but maybe it is because nobody dared to take a single slice or maybe because the guests chose to enjoy the pool.
~The Other Sweets~
Yes! Aside from the cake, my wife also ordered some more sweets for our guests. She wanted to have a separate dessert table where these would be displayed. I commended how they arranged the desserts so neatly.
~ Sweet Shots ~
The one on the right is called Red Velvet Cheesecake Shots and the other one is called Blueberry Cheesecake Shots. My sister told me that these two flavors were really good. No womder I was not able to get any of these.
~ Donuts ~
Like the first two desserts, I was not able to get even at least a bite of the donuts which for me is very cute and sweet. I actually regretted that I did not get one while it was still there on the table.
~ Gummy Bears, Jelly Beans,Sour Gummy Worms ~
Now, notice these four small covered containers, these are really not part of the desserts package we ordered from the supplier. These are jelly beans, gummy bears, and other candies we got from Shopee. Of course I got to taste them because I was the one who put them inside these small jars. You know temptations, right?
~ Brownies ~
I am imagining the taste of these brownies. They look so sweet and moist! I would have loved these brownies for sure.
~ Cupcakes and Cakepops ~
~ Sugar Cookies and Chocolate Gems ~
Lastly, there were also twelve sugar cookies and twenty-four chocolate gems. These names are new to me, I would not have known about these desserts if it weren't for my daughter's birthday. Anyway, I think I would not opt to pick these because I am not fond of cookies but still they look adorable.
We also ordered for a mango cheese with marshmallows ice cream but I do not have a photo of it or someone eating it. So yeah, it was a very SWEET PARTY.
Thank you for reading. Until next time. Goodbye.
