I created my blog Called Claire's Crazy Cakes, Bakes and Kitchen Hacks about four years ago, and I'll be sharing them here for you to enjoy. They include recipes, do's and don'ts, hacks and how to avoid making the same booboos as me!
So with the job markets being as flooded as they are and crypto taking a total dive, I have decided to start my own business!
*Insert EEEEEEEK here!"
Over the last four years I have totally let my creative side go wild as I've made crazier and more luxuriant cakes and cupcakes and all kinds of other goodies, like chocolate dipped, gingerbread Christmas tree decorations!
With 20 years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality trade, including 4 years of experience working for the most incredible wholesale bakery in Cape Town, it's a no brainer that I've picked up a few tricks hacks and baking tips along the way.
The idea is that I would like to share some of those with you as I test the waters and see if there is a demand for what I have to offer, before setting up my boutique online store.
On top of my work experience, I am also a Mom to three teenagers, which means I've had plenty of experience with themed cakes and sitting up till 2am with a box of wine trying to get it just right! The one year, I honestly just plonked a remote control car on top of one of Matthew's cakes because I was so freaking tired.
Working full time and baking for those special occasions is damn hard work, especially if you can't afford to pay exorbitant amounts of money for low quality, mas produces products, when for the same price or less, you could have made it yourself. That takes time to do shopping, time to mess up, time to get it right and the stress of getting it done on time... phew
So, that's where I'd like to come in.
The purpose of Claire's Crazy Bakes, Cakes, and Kitchen Hacks is to turn the power over to you and teach you some tricks, but as I get my online store up and running, I will also be posting prices so that I can do it all for you!
I am actually ready to take orders, specifically in the Table View and surrounding areas, so pop me a DM if you're interested in something specific.
I will require a 50% deposit upfront, and I ask you to remember that homebaked takes a little extra love and time. You are paying for a product, sure, but you're also paying for labour, love and energy (both my own and the electricity meter!).
Please feel free to like and share my page so that I can build a great following and hopefully be successful in my new adventure!
