It was an incrredible combination! As I said, it was my first attempt, but it turned out absolutely perfectly! The batter rose well and the chocolate and the icing went to well together. It's actually a very light chocolate cake, but when you add the chocolate, the colour changes from bright red to a deep red. Almost maroon. I will post the full recipe later this week!
