Tucked away in the leafy courtyard of Green Theory on Convent Road, Practically SoBar isn’t your typical bar. That’s exactly what makes it stand out. It proudly holds the title of India’s first non-alcoholic bar, offering a refreshing alternative to the city’s usual nightlife scene.

I recently stumbled upon this unique space and was intrigued to learn that it’s the brainchild of Santhosh Narendran. What he’s created here is more than just a bar! It’s more than a conversation starter, a cozy haven for those who want to unwind without the buzz of alcohol.

From the outside, you might not expect much. But step in, and you’re welcomed into a quiet, green space. The menu is filled with creative mocktails, kombuchas, and fizzy concoctions that play with flavors most delightfully. It’s clear that this place was designed for people who appreciate good taste, minus the alcohol.

The menu is a playful, thoughtful lineup of non-alcoholic mocktails that don’t feel like second choices. These drinks are well-crafted, layered, and surprisingly adventurous. I tried Toxic Pair with a bright bergamot twist—it had just enough sparkling bubbles and sweet peach goodness to make me forget it was alcohol-free. If you’re into botanicals, herbs, or fermented drinks with character, this place is for you.

The space is intimate, with minimalist interiors and a touch of green. Perfect for deep conversations, light laughter, or even solo unwinding. The kind of place where you can actually hear your thoughts, or the person across from you. 😂

The Sober Fizzzzz options on the menu appear to be light, refreshing, and subtly complex, and it did make a statement in the glass. One drink that stood out to me at Practically SoBar was their Toxic Pair and it left an impression. So much so that I’ve already made a mental note to head back just to taste it again.

Toxic Pair | Rs. 350

A luminous blend of bright bergamot, sweet peach,
and lively citrus, topped with a delicate fizz

The best part, Santhosh Narendran himself made the drink for me. It was 10:30 AM, the barista was out, but Santhosh stepped behind the counter without hesitation. Not only did he mix the drink, he crafted it right in front of me, explaining each ingredient as he went.

The Toxic Pair he garnished, looked like beads of black; it had a quiet sophistication, and with a mysterious twist at the top that made me pause before that first sip.

What I appreciated most? In a city that often equates fun with booze, Practically SoBar offers a refreshing alternative. So whether you’re sober-curious, off alcohol for a bit, or just looking for a new kind of chill, give this spot a visit. It’s practically perfect.

Velvet Glow | Rs. 350

My friend tried the Velvet Glow, which promised “a radiant glow of peaches and oranges, where velvety foam meets a soba…” And it delivered exactly that. It tasted just as it sounded: smooth, bright, and subtly uplifting.

The lights at night must be something else. I visited during the day, but I can only imagine how beautifully lit the space gets after sunset. With its cozy garden setting and warm, thoughtful design, Practically SoBar must truly come alive in the evening.

Over a month ago, I saw among the crowd and spotted a few coffee addicts clearly enjoying themselves too! Sipping their brews and some from the Sober Fizz menu.
Not gonna lie—I was one of them.

This time, I wasn’t just there for my go-to calming drink. I had something special to drop off for the founder. With cascara and coffee blossoms in hand, I left him a challenge: create a drink that’ll blow Bangalore’s mind.

Spotted a brews sheet beside the packs I left, featuring fun coffees like Ol’ Smoky, Nitro Naturals & Yeast Fermented. Should I drop off some of our own wild ones next time? Hit me with your thoughts in the comments!

Ah, the velve glow looks tempting. It seems the kind of drink I'd order ❤️

A non-alcoholic bar is a great idea. I'm not sure we have one of those here in Venezuela.

Soon, they'll be trendy, I guess.

Have a lovely weekend ahead, dear @coffeenlove 🥂

Maybe you could open one 😁 Sometimes, I wish to have a cafe and a bar, mostly because I love the idea of sparkling wines. Thank you for the wishes. Happy Easter to you 🐰

A Non Alcoholic Bar 😂 ? What even ? Why even ? So it’s a juice shop 🫣

The place really does look interesting and love how the named the place So-Bar 😹

Noooo! It's a stop-worthy spot. It's SOBER Friendly, You out of everyone will love it.

Ohhh, so that kind of place exist, it's like the cleaner version of a bar. But some of the name of their drinks sound really scary, some might think it's an alcoholic drink, like that Toxic Pair. Another is that Butterfly Effect, it sound like an alcoholic drink that will give the drinker an effect 😆✨. But anyways, I haven't really get inside a bar, both that with alcoholic drink and that with the non alcoholic drink.

Haha1 It does sound risky with a twist of non alcohol version. Yummy Drinks for our ever-tempting tummy.
