How to Make Cuban-Style Tamales/Cómo hacer tamales a lo cubano

Hello, this is a traditional Cuban recipe that we mostly enjoy during holidays.
The main ingredient of the tamale is ground corn. Below are the steps for its preparation:

Hola, esta es una receta tradicional cubana que mayormente la disfrutamos en los días festivos.
El ingrediente principal del tamal es maíz molido . A continuación los pasos para su elaboración:

Step 1 / Paso 1

• First, the corn on the cob is ground.

  • Primeramente se muele la mazorca de maíz.

Step 2 / Paso 2

• We prepare the seasoning.

  • Preparamos el sazón.

Step 3 / Paso 3

• We add the seasoning to the ground corn.

  • Añadimos el sazón al maíz molido.

Step 4 / Paso 4

• Then, we wrap the corn husk leaves and add the mixture. You can also add chorizo or some other sausage.

  • Luego envolvemos las hojas de la mazorca del maíz y le añadimos la mezcla. Se le puede adicionar también chorizo o algún otro embutido.

Step 5 / Paso 5

• Put water to heat in a pressure cooker, and when it boils (very hot), add the tamales. They will be inside for 30 minutes.

  • Poner agua a calentar en una olla de presión y cuando hierva (bien caliente) se le añaden los tamales. Estarán dentro de 30 minutos.

Step 6 / Paso 6

• Remove the tamales after the time is up and let them cool.

  • Sacar los tamales después de cumplido el tiempo y dejar enfriar.

Así es como queda servido este maravilloso plato. Se acompaña muy bien de arroz y carne molida .

This is how this wonderful dish is served. It goes very well with rice and ground beef.
